I remember using these old school holds and new ones being called plastic fantastics. With much fondness. I think some of the creativity in wall design has been lost over time. Would love a history video about indoor climbing.

I remember when holds were bricks missing in a wall, or cracks between stone blocks on a railway bridge. Then we had purpose indoor walls with bricks inset or protruding and sometimes a ledge to belay from. Then the gaps had actual rocks cemented in. Often collected from below real crags (E.g Altringham). Then came bendecrete. A world of possibilities including trad protection on indoor walls (eg Preston). Then plywood and resin holds made it less realistic but pushed certain aspects and allowed resetting (not easy with bendecrete). Volumes and now cracks have tried to recreate the change in angles and different techniques of real rock again. I miss bendecrete though.

That's amazing. Climbing holds, like so many things, seem so simple, yet they have such an interesting history and went through much evolution.

I remember some of those holds. The circular inset holds were super popular. And the "novelty" of climbing on the ceiling was really a thing. Those guys leading all the way across the roof were the SUPERHEROES!

This could have been a really interesting video about the history of climbing holds if you included, well, history. Things like who/which company was the first to actually produce commercial climbing holds and maybe let them talk about their reasoning. The way it is it is mildly interesting and basically just a 13 min ad for Euroholds ... Not that I have an issue with sponsored content, but I really expect more than a cheap ad wrapped in the pretense of some climbing history. And it wasn't a long time ago when this was exactly what this channel delivered.

Hi Marcel, in fact here the worker is applying solvent-free pigment. No dangerous at all. All of the processes of our production line follows scrupulously the safety procedures, (audited by the Protection techniques and equipment, risk prevention and health and hygiene in the workplace of the spanish government agency). Also in the 12:45 when pouring, it is totally safe for the people around there, because our PU is solvent free, and the mixing is produced in the head machine. Inmediately after the pouring, the molds are gping through a zone of extraction of vapours due to the PU reaction, even not being especially dangerous. Thank you for your interest in this aspects, we are really concerned about this issues, and spasnish industry also does..

If you want to gain more fans don't celebrate like a lunatic after accomplishing climbs. There is one where you start screaming and acting very bizarre, that is enough to turn someone off for life. Good luck in your future. Try to act more mature in the future. It looks better on you.
