More Najdorf games please! I find it fascinating just how many resources Black has in these positions, no matter how terrifying White's attack or positional advantage seems. I'd especially like to see some Adams Attack (6. h3), since that seems to be trendy nowadays.

As black, I try to play Najdorf as much as possible as I am very comfortable in the sharp positions that arise. Awesome to see the analysis here for even more ideas.

First game I have learnt from first to last move and the game that ultimately made me fall in love with Najdorf Sicilian! Masterpiece from Kasparov indeed. Thank you for this video Daniel! Great work!

Great game. I personally find these types of positions terrifying as black. I tried playing the Scheviningen for about a month and had to go back to my caro kann against 1.e4 and forget about the Sicilian altogether. Maybe one day I'll work up the courage.

I think more games of Kasparov and Karpov are worth to be presented in this channel. But also the games of the great Mikhail Botvinnik.

Daniel, would u agree that Kasparov is a much more fun player to watch than Magnus because of his fearlessness? Magnus grinds u down in boring endgames, and Garry just jumps for your throat
@PowerPlayChess
@PowerPlayChess 6 жыл бұрын
First, beauty/fun is in the eye of the beholder. Second, Kasparov did not always play in the way we see here, and learned to back down (particularly in the latter half of his career) if he felt the situation was too risky. You are clearly not a fan of Magnus's style, but we should separate style from fearlessness/risk. I actually see the current world champion as often taking more risks in his play than Kasparov. Garry would never have played such unorthodox openings as Magnus for example. In the sharp position in this game, Garry had done his homework and already had a very good feel for the position.

Super Nezh. Yes indeed. Certainly not the GOAT but more of a goat in his attacking style. I will bear that thought in mind. I was at Fulham on Saturday - Maupay in the last minute!! CMON YOU BEES!!

Dear Daniel King have you considered using a wood themed board ? instead of the blue and white screen to make it look like you were playing with wood board , it might be a good change or you can put it up to vote with your loyal listeners.... or do whatever you like because it is your channel after all but something to think about.... thank you kindly for your deep analysis for club-level players

I would have been happy playing against that strange setup from Adams, though. It looks like he completely lost track of things during the early opening. Playing both a3 and Be2 behind the f3 pawn in the same game cannot be a good thing in this line. No a4. No early g4. No efficient development of the Be2. I wonder if Kasparov already smelled blood after lets say move 11.

This was almost suicide by Adams. He seemed really badly prepared, yet he went for this sharp line. Great video, though.

Kasparov retired from serious tournament play in 2005 - as I mention in the video. Since then he has played a few exhibition matches and also participated in a speed tournament in St Louis in 2017, but this was definitely not a return (as portrayed by some in the media at the time). He is now a human rights activist, business speaker and author.
