Always loved reading Fischer’s analysis. A real giant of the game and remarkable given he had no access to computers to assist. Love the drunken man analogy. 🍺

If you look at Bobby Fischer's games analyzed by the 13th world champion Garry he was fairly jealous of his success and he would try to downplay his moves using strong computers for slightly better in his opinion moves it was clear to me that he was very jealous of Bobby Fischer and how successful and legendary he was Plus in his match in 1992 he made more money than any other world championship matches

Perry there’s no doubt that Gary has a massive ego and Fischeralmost certainly did too. In both cases probably justified give that abilities but that makes it hard for them to be 100% objective about each other.

I absolutely love all these blitz games by Fischer. I hope 🤞 you cover them all. We all appreciate the qualifier that Fischer was a great analyst “as a chess player!” But you topped yourself with the stellar line: Black’s King was staggering around in the middle of the board like a drunk 😵 at closing time in the pub! Bravo 👏! I hope you’ll encore ALL these blitz games so we can delve into the Deep Mind of Fischer! To play this well with little time used staggers the mind with his intuitive play. Thank you 🙏!

Fischer was down a bishop but it didn't matter with the exposed king and lack of coordination of black. Probably, the best blitz player in history. So fast and accurate, like a modern day booked up Morphy or Capablanca who was also a magnificent blitz player coming out ahead of Lasker around 1908 when he was only 20. Lasker said, it is amazing you never seem to make any mistakes. True Story. Bobby Fischer said of the third world champion he was possibly the greatest natural talent in the entire history of game. Plus he was a ladies man and enjoyed life and came from a wealthy family too.

That remark about the pub puts a big smile upon one's face. Great analysis and humour in one and by the way, I learned something as I thought that Qd5 was more tenacious than Qg5...time to revise the old files with some Fischer-like assistance.

Joaquin Rueda Check out the three new ebooks on Amazon for Kindle by John Donaldson and Eric Tangborn. The price is right for some previously unpublished games with some of Fischer’s analysis!

Fischer wrote notes to his games that were to be included in a book on the tournament - which was never published. You can find his hand-written notes in various places online.

I don't think these games were in his 60 memorable book. It stopped in 1967. Good question. Thanks for answering GM King

Blitz must have tough with analogue clocks. I think that's why Fischer 'didn't notice' that he had 3 mins left.....

We still play like that, I'm slow and the noise of the clock ticking just added more pressure, horrible, but also fun

@BLAIR M Schirmer and sometimes your flag would fall, You would stop the clock, turn the clock upside down, and see that the flag wouldn't drop past the second hand. At which point you would ask yourself why did the flag fall in the first place? Often times this would happen when your opponent was banging the clock like a pinball machine. Andwas I the only one who glanced at the clock, saw that the flag was up, made my fortieth move and watch the flag drop as I was reaching to punch the clock? That only happens when you are winning.

I always thought that Bishop move was more natural, simply removing more defense from the King.
@nilsp9426
@nilsp9426 6 жыл бұрын
I think it is in some way more principled, because it activates another piece, not shuffling your already developed pieces, trying to get the absolute maximum out of the position. But of course you need to justify such reckless moves with actual variations.

The best move is 7.Nxa7+! followed by 8.f4, 9.Nc3, 10 a4! with a clear advantage for white. 7.f4 is not the strongest move because 7...Qxf4 is wrong: much better is 7...Qf5. Basically this is the refutation of the Schliemann: simply black has not compensation at all. But at Fischer's time chess engines didn't exist.

I love how Fischer proved this gambit is a total crap. This can only work as a surprise if the white player does not know theory, otherwise black should not survive
@jasondoe2596
@jasondoe2596 6 жыл бұрын
Eh... *most* (not all) gambits are "total crap" from a theoretical perspective, but still good enough for blitz. They can be practical, and they're certainly enjoyable. I wouldn't blame his opponent too much, if I was playing blitz against such a monster I'd also try to surprise him...
