LIVE BAIT Fishing for Spillway Monsters!

I am LIVE BAIT fishing a couple different spillways for MONSTERS today! Spillways are loaded with all kinds of fish and sometimes they even have a few HUGE fish living below them like big bass and big catfish! Today I used some live worms and caught some bait fish / bluegill and then caught some bigger fish using the live bait! I had a bunch of fun catching these catfish, bass, and other fish species in these spillways and dams!

Here in wisconsin, using bluegill as live bait is illegal but i use to do it and caught alot of big bass, some pike and catfish

Hey Adam I’m not sure if you have any Round goby in your area but I would consider trying those for live bait, they always do the trick for me and I caught my pb smallmouth on one. They are invasive so you should kill them anyway

Try a 3 barrel swivel w one line being your dead weight, fish on one and your main line on the other. That way if you break off it’s just your weight. Use this rig a lot in the river.

Use octopus hooks or circle hooks for a way better hook up ratio! Good luck out there man!

you might find a deep whole,if you walk down other sde of dam. then fish the deep whole. that one catfish you caught, was a yellow bull head cat
