Love this video MAN! about to shoot my first ever wedding... so nervous and stressed about my gears (also will be attending Christian Wedding for the first time). I have been imagining and thinking how it will be and planning with only assumptions and worried about missing any shots... out of focus shots (will be using Nikon d3400 with 2 kits and 50mm 1.8). was about to loose it but this video gave me hope that I can do it! I really appreciate!!

Always a great insight to your approach. Keep them coming! One question if I may - why did you switch from 85mm to 55mm? For tighter shots you’d end up closer to the guests so doesn’t that mean it’s less discrete? Thx

Thanks mate, it was mainly for ceremonies initially. Because 85 was too tight in some small venues. But now I just think it looks more natural and I like getting a bit more involved, while still being discreet

Lovely behind the scenes. I see that you use the sony slim recorders, but what was recording your audio? Were you using a wireless mic?

Yeah it was a rode wireless mic, not sure which though, my BTS guy sorted it

Amazing insight Adam! Love watching these! One question, do you use much post stabilisation on your moving shots? Particularly when you are following the bride and grrom for portraits? Or just relying on the on camera? I realise you may have upgraded bodies since this was shot. Thanks

Generally not because the warp stabilisation in post isn’t reliable. But very occasionally it works. Most shots I don’t mind a bit of movement

Hi Adam, hope you had a great Christmas. Just watched your you tube video behind the scenes. I've commented to ask a bit of info and share your secrets sorry for that😉. Couple of questions if you don't mind me asking. One is how do you get your shots so steady with handheld, is it the stabilisation in the camera? Alsodo you have a link for the prism you use? I'd like to copy this idea for myself😊. Thankyou mate. I am new to wedding videography so just trying to find a bit of info. I'm currently using a nikon d5100 until I can get enough money to upgrade😊. Thankyou mate

Great to see another BTS. I was wondering, how many minutes of footage you come away with compared to the final product (shooting ratio), and if you have any specific techniques to make sure your footage cuts together nicely (shooting for edit).

About 20-25 minutes of usable b-roll (short clips) after each wedding. This becomes the 15 minute film, including the ceremony and speech multicams also. I would say only press record when you have composed your frame so that you can use that clip from the beginning, rather than having to trim off the first couple of seconds every time.
