I was able to issue this ADB Shell command from a Windows laptop using the Android SDK Platform Tools. Works using the Remote ADB app on my Samsung S6 Lite tablet too.

Is there any news on a work around for expanding the memory. I was slow to receive the news that adb was being blocked. Read up on how to expand the memory, bought the required items and found no options for external drives on fire os6. Researched that, downloaded the adb shell program just to find it being blocked. What are Amazon playing at? All I’m trying to do is have a larger memory. Why is that such an issue for them?

its ridiculous that firestick owners even Need to go thru such convoluted antics to do something as simple as clear the cache on their stick...the amount of control they try to exert is nuts .... theres always workarounds, but man! , they shouldnt even be needed for such simple functions.

My Samsung S22 plus didn't work with ADB shell it has Android version 14. Got my old Samsung S8 active out and it worked has Android version 9. Hope you get mouse figured out.🤞

Make sure your Phone is connected to the same wifi network as your stick and turn off any VPN's

What about DefSquid and the Booster utility therein? Doesn't that clear apps caches?

If amazon have blocked ADB then there is a good chance it won't work on systems with the update that is blocking adb.

It’s not the update that’s blocking it. It’s if you use a cache cleaner or ad blocker the new update removes the ad and cache cleaner and am for some reason ADB is included in that. I got the update and I still have ADB debugging. I don’t see the purpose for a cache cleaner or ad blocker never used any in all the years I have used Fire devices. I clean the cache manually everyday

@@grantzelenick8200 adb debugging stays on the system it's just you are unable to make a local connection to it,.most cache cleaners need to make a local adb connection to send the clean cache command so.even though adb debugging is there and switched on the command will.fail.

@@darrell4328i got a refund from Amazon for the TDUK apps and all the fire sticks I own, which was 8 in total. Some sticks were purchased more than a year ago. I use ADB for various apps and because amazon have blocked ADB connections. Going forward im using my nvidia shields which have no issues like this. Amazon locking down the fire sticks. Next up will be blocking side loading. The death of the fire stick.

Please make sure you are connecting from another device such as a phone or tablet also make sure its on the same network and make sure you have the correct IP address and also make sure ADB is switched on from the Firestick.

I use Deep Sleep in the developer options when I'm not using mine. This stops it updating when I'm not using it. When I'm using it it tries to update but so far I've been able to postpone it but don't know how long I'll be able to keep doing this.
