How did you find this out? Like one other user poster I use Zank remote App as the receiver for TCP IP Commands from my automation system. Of course with the new update it complains there is a computer or device connected via ADB and I am wondering if I did something similar with this app if it would work. Any thoughts you may have on where to start looking would be awesome! Good job btw!

I tried this procedure many times, even resetting Firestick Gen 3 to factory default settings to no avail. I switched off my VPN on my phone and BINGO the procedure worked. Thanks to Chris for his video. I hope this information helps someone else. I was tearing my hair out and I have no hair!

It works, thanks a lot! That's essential to enable [ADB debugging] even when connecting from a mobile device. I didn't think of directly run/stop the mouse service from a remote , but that's just one of an Android device. If you could set up a batch, it might work even after a reboot, but it sounds a bit cumbersome. I'm looking forward to hearing more updates. Please keep us posted, Cheers :)

On 2nd gen 4k its not working. I noticed that right from the begining when i entered the ip adrress the command line read different. Your device in the video started with (kara) on mine it said karat, pretty interesting... and then right from the start it was appearing with NO SUCH FILE FOUND IN DIRECTORY, then on the second line it read INACCESSIBLE OR NOT FOUND. it sucks... but i thank you for trying and always putting out solid info. Thanks Chris Waite. I have mousetoggle 1.11 installed on Fire TV stick 4K OS 6.7.02 (NS6702/5093). When i type..."cd /data/local/tmp/.mousetoggle" i get "not found". However if i type "cd /data/local/tmp" i get $ which means the folder is correct but i suspect "mousetoggle" is listed under a another name??? Is there way to find out where it is located????

You can use on more than one Firestick, you just need to type the other firesticks IP address in Remote ADB when doing this.

You can power the firestick on a separate power point to your TV and the toggle will stay on if you leave stick powered.

Please try the commands a few times, on mine it took about 5 or 6 attempts for the command to work and be recognised, I am not sure why this is.

I am not familiar with the Fire Max 11, if you have the Fireos 7 or 8 though its likely they have blocked it.

I have a newer 4k MAX; also trying to do a workaround, usually would use Zank Remote but also ADB is blocked, especially when trying to access file folders for my emulators, I did connect a wired mouse through OTG cable but the cursor disappears whenever Im accessing the File Explorer app so NO GOOD, jeez I really need ADB hope amazon doesn't go down from here on

Got the service started and everything on my Firestick 4k 2nd gen FireTV OS 8.1.1.1 and the mouse doesn't appear when double-pressing the button. BTW add an & to a command in *nix to keep it running in the background, i.e. "./nmouseg start &"

Thank you, Mr. Waite. Your video was very helpful. However, I had to turn on my Wi-Fi on my phone for the USB debugging notification to show up on my firestick. I suppose because I'm using a wireless connection the notification wouldn't show up initially without my Wi-Fi. Also when viewing the mouse toggle app the notification never changed to started on my firestick, it remains on starting but the arrow still shows up after clicking the play button twice. Nevertheless everything else in this video is definitely spot on and I appreciate it. 👌🏾💯👍🏾👏🏾🫶🏾.

​​@@cwtek1I don't have the OS 8 MAX, 2nd Gen, but I'm pretty sure TDUK found how to do a working virtual mouse for it (using the virtual mouse app made for 'Android-TV, with some ADB modifications). Obviously, that too was broken when Amazon blocked internal adb! (sigh)
