Captain America was such a good person that he actually kept the list on him at all times and wrote down recommendations in front of people
@paulpinecone24643 жыл бұрын
When he was defrosted, most of the stations for the radio shows he had writen down didn't even exist anymore. The reason he hasn't been present for some recent major conflicts is that he has been catching up on his apology notes for being unable to avail himself of everyone's good advice. This can involve tracking down next of kin or in some cases, where embarrassingly he did not note down who made the suggestion, he has had to use a communication portal to Earth-1 to consult with a Detective whose skills are unrivalled by anyone in his own dimension. This is the backstory motivating Phase 4 of the MCU, as Cap's fastidiousness has stressed the fabric of space-time causing the dimensional fracturing seen in the current arcs of Spiderman, Dr. Strange, et al. The culminatation of this phase will occur in the 2024 tentpole "A Man of Note", featuring a conflict more fraught than any seen since "Civil War" as America's Soldier must weigh a choice between leaving a recommendation for Amos 'n' Andy unanswered and the destruction of all life in the multiverse.

If htey want to put it in and spend tme showing me what they find so compelling about the item (I watched Star Trek Lower Decks and Westworld under these auspices) and so far It's beena pretty effective deterent for people offloading their show-lists on me with no accountability. really, by 2020, you should have figured this out. This is bang on. One of the many social annoyances of the modern world. Another great one is when you text someone and they spend time texting back to tell you why they can’t text you back about it right now, and how incredibly busy they are currently. Or something in that ballpark. I hate everything about how we communicate these days. Lol
@1chienandalou3 жыл бұрын
RESIST. Tell your friends your texting/Communication preferences. It IS insane and unsustainable for the human brain! I don’t understand how people don’t see this from the amount of texts they send/get that there’s a lot of that to deal with? When I’m busy I don’t even read the texts that I get and open them when I have more time. It’s different with very close people, or someone I’m expecting to hear from, but random ongoing conversations etc. is going to have to take a backseat, and I don’t explain it I just pick it back up when I can. But apparently some people think busy people are rude (or traveling, or sick... it’s a lot of reasons that can keep one away from insta-text mode). I don’t think so. And I don’t want to hurt anyone, but my life gets that busy sometimes and if someone is going to take it personal, i don’t know what to do about it...
@lillavano72233 жыл бұрын
@@1chienandalou MY GOD yes! Why would I send a text saying I can't text right now, that's literally ambivalent. Yet some people expect it. And why do some people expect a text back immediately for the time of a full conversation? Isn't the POINT of texting is that you can have a conversation even when you're not available at the same time? That means I'm gonna answer you when I'm available for you, which might be some time later, but hey, I'm glad we have this wonderful invention called texting, where our messages don't disappear so we can maintain a conversation with pauses. Yet when I say that these are my texting preferences, I'm the rude one (according to some people). I also don't wanna hurt anyone, but sorry if I wanna stay sane with the amount of data input I get. “When you begin to listen inside of yourself, you hear the chaos of your own thinking and begin to feel your discomfort. If you are patient and observe these things without running from them, you will pass through them because they cannot keep you from what lies beyond. What keeps people from being free is not their external circumstances. It is their own mind and their own thoughts. They are prisoners to their thoughts. They cannot stop watching their thoughts. It is as if you were watching a movie on a screen and you could never tear yourself away. The screen then becomes ever more real to you, for you have no contrast. You have no experience to remind you that it is just a movie you are watching. As a result, it has greater and greater impact upon you, and you become a more captive audience with every moment.” A quote from a free online book titled *Wisdom from the Greater Community* - It's really epic, maybe add it to the list?

When a sponsor wants a video but you have to stretch to come up with an original one... and it ends up so good we can't even tell 'til the sponsor drop. Smooth transition.

OK... I'm not ashamed to admit that when she explained this "Wheat Warriors", I paused the video and searched it on Netflix. And when that came up with nothing, I started searching for it on Google. For like 2 mins before I realised what was happening. What? It sounded interesting. ... OK, I'm _a little_ ashamed.

"List" guy here. Can confirm, most of the time, I have no intention of following through on people's recommendations. Look, I barely have the time to do all the things that catch my interest independently, how am I going to add dozens more shows, movies, games and whatnot to my already very limited free time? So yes, I do shamelessly use the list line to placate people. It's nothing personal. And to be fair, while it's a very rare occurrence, every now and then an item on the list does end up being watched. Usually that requires several recommendations from different sources, though.

You know what's really annoying? When your friend is so excited by something that they come interrupt you to share their excitement. But you're cool with it, and you give them a polite show of interest. But they're not satisfied unless you are totally committed to sharing their excitement. Which is actually impossible, because they just interrupted your involvement with something completely different. Don't let them convince you it's your problem. It's totally theirs!

The worst response when you recommend something is, 'oh that sounds interesting'.
@doktormcnasty4 жыл бұрын
If people aren't asking then don't recommend. There's only 24 hours in a day: 1/3 of them are gone due to sleeping, another 1/3 are gone due to working, and the other 1/3 is already cluttered with all the stuff you have to do that you can't while you're sleeping & working. Then someone comes along and tasks you with their new favorite thing unsolicited because they _think_ you'll appreciate their thinking of you but all they're really doing is forcing you into the uncomfortable position of either lying to your face or having to find time in an already stressful schedule to appease you and your stupid ego trip.
@MattRosvideos4 жыл бұрын
@@doktormcnasty I think you took this a lot more seriously than you should've. Some people are just trying to create a light conversation dude. Hope you're okay though man, feel like you're projecting with the overly elaborate nature of the comment. ❤️️
@doktormcnasty4 жыл бұрын
@@MattRosvideos Just think first before you annoy people with your unsolicited 'recommendations' is all I'm saying. You may _think_ you're adding something positive to the situation but really you're just creating unnecessary stress by asking them to commit to something they weren't looking for. This video is the perfect illustration of that fact. If people want you to recommend something for them to commit time to they'll ask for it. Shoving it into people's faces when they're not is just rude, really and it's about time people start understanding that.

@@doktormcnasty I mean it’s not as black and white as you’re making out, all just depends on context. If there’s people that do it to you, it’s your responsibility to take it up with them, instead of venting frustration in a youtube comment section. No hard feelings, glad we can both agree Julie’s a great comic anyhow.

I like that you actually made the sponsor related to the video and added your personal recs. So many sponsorships for content that’s less product oriented seem so disjointed but this one was actually interesting!
