Add toner will not clear on Ricoh MPC2000/2500/3000

Thanks for your videos on the toner pump. Our copier is like the MPC2000 (Gestetner DSC525). After watching your other video on the 3500, I attempted the replacement. I am no technician. But I did manage to take it step by step and make the change. Put it all back together and it Worked. Could not have done it without your Help. Hardest part was locating the pump as this is 2022 and our machine is very old. Found a new one on e-bay in Germany.

Excellent Video. On our MPC 3000 the service tech did go into the back of the unit to replace a Black toner sensor and a Black pump and pump hose too.There sure are a huge mess of connectors to remove. Looks real risky for a beginner to mess with. On another Cyan pump a few years back they just vacuumed out the old hose. Now since the machine has no service contract I am going to attempt replacing one Yellow pump only and trying the vacuum trick. Here we have always used genuine Ricoh toner. Machine is from 2006, bought new. This machine does have some type of knowing how many times the same toner cartridge has been removed and retried when the toner pump is weak. So with a new pump it can reject a half full toner cartridge "you saved" from earlier. So it knows that the Rfid chip in that cartridge #xyz has been attempted to be used again. So having a new cartridge for that color is a good think to have. Before a the copier totally will not work with say a brand new say Yellow toner cartridge I have noted that the last one that got replaced before was still half full. So maybe the RFID chip on the cartridge is just the fuel/toner gauge and the machine says you are out of Yellow based on hours/rotations/etc than really toner? Our old service tech mentioned that all the CMYK pumps are sort of the same , but the hoses are different lengths and maybe some feature on the pump. With the Ricoh service call not on contract for the Cyan he used a black pump because it cost less. That was 3 years ago. The recent Yellow ricoh pump I just got was the same as a black one thus I bought the Yellow pump. I sort of remember him cutting off a feature on the black pump so it would be usable on a cyan location. Anyway thanks for the video, The toner pump tubes do have some type of coating inside to reduce caking so on machines that are easier to get at the tube should be replaced.

How do you replace a pump on the Aficio 3228c?? I’m getting replace black toner even with a new toner.

That would be a major undertaking and would take a video several hours long. Way too complicated for that model. Ricoh made it much easier with the newer models after that one. That machine was introduced back in 2005 and is probably ready for retirement sorry to say.

Hello Thank you for your great videos.. I would like to ask you which is better ricoh 4503 or 4502 or 5502? I only have these three options and i have to make a decision. Can you please tell me which needs less maintenance? The guy who’s selling me said that 4503 is the best option since it doesnt have ink pump..

Both are wonderful boxes! However the 02's are very temperamental to line noise. It is always best to have them on a dedicated line otherwise you may run into some SC codes related to fuser not heating up properly. Also the 03's are VERY expensive when it comes to replacing PCU's if they go out early. Both can handle a nice load per month and run very well for me.

Don't forget to remove the toner cartridge before you start vacuuming otherwise you will empty the cartridge!! lol
