Adding a tractor PTO shaft to the Predator 212 6.5 HP truck so I can bush hog with it. Concept

In this video I go over my plans to add an 18 horsepower engine to the rear of the truck to drive a PTO shaft to then pull my drag type bush hog so I can cut grass with the pickup.

Unfortunately we had a tragedy in the family and I did not get this project done ,so it's on hold until spring I did put the Duramax in it under the hood and it is awesome !

My buddy has a 21hp Briggs opposed twin swapped into a 87 ford ranger. He’s got it running a 2 speed belt drive off a centrifugal clutch. Low is 6-1 and high is 1.25-1. It’s got dual carbs swapped onto it and a few other mods it probably makes about 30hp. It will actually do 95kph in 4th up hill and hold 115kph😮 in 5th on flat land. He can tow a 3000lbs camper with it to 60kph. He refuses to let me film it says he wants to make his own channel but when it does get posted I’ll drop you a link to the video. The crazy part is he actually daily drives the truck here in Calgary Alberta and runs it on the highway. Gets around 950kms to the tank so I’d assume that’s around 60mpg. We drove to fort McMurray with it last year that’s a 1600km round trip and it managed. He’s got a tiny 45 amp alternator running on it aswell I believe it’s from an old vw. He has heat by wrapping copper tube around the exhaust and using an electric water pump from a Kia to circulate it they a heater core and it works perfect even in minus 30. I helped build it so I know most of the details.

Hay man got my S10 Duromax running but I can't figure out the throttle. Any chance u can do a short on how u set it up. We ran it with a string through the window. And that 24 to 12 ratio was spot on for the 440cc. We were moving the donkey in 4th

I get to tinker with my Trooper here and there, mostly been just dropping weight. I built a heavy duty wooden gantry to pull the engine and finally got that engine to separate from the transmission. It had one of those special pull type throw-out bearings and I had to unbolt the pressure plate from the flywheel. I should've just done that to start instead of trying to get that clip to release. I really had my heart set on keeping the factory clutch but that flywheel and pressure plate are quite heavy and I'm a little worried about the centrifugal load. Not sure.

Sounds good, get rid of the clutch, you don't need it, I just float the gears with no problem

@@ChrisfromKeyfarm right on. I have to figure out the shaft size on the engine I'm using, haven't even looked. I got that 84 tooth sprocket for the transmission but I have no idea what the axle gearing is. I was maybe thinking a 12 or even 14 tooth clutch on top. I don't know if I want to go all the way to 10. I don't plan on racing or anything, just thinking a 10 might be way too low and slow with that 84 on bottom...

Can you take a transfercase and hookup to the PTO to the Brushhog. Then you can you use the pushbutton .
