Appreciate that! I’ll be playing around with a few new switch machines and signals. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching!

That's an ingenious idea Paul, and you've been adding these little tutorial videos more frequently. As always, very much appreciated!

This is very helpful…now I don’t have to figure it out 😊, thanks!…where’d you get the signal head from? Sorry if I missed it🙁

Comes with the Dwarvin fiber optic block detector. Email me and I can get them for you at a good deal. Thanks Anthony.

Nice job Paul. Witch paint and color did you use on new trackage ?
@HartfordWhaler20 күн бұрын
Thanks Luc! For the track, I spray it with Rustoleum camo brown before ballasting. Then after I ballast, I’ll use Vallejo powdered pigments for rust and grime.

@HartfordWhaler Thanks Paul. I'm not the best in painting with cans. For tracks, I'm mostly using Tamiya paints with my Badger 150 airbrush. Many different colors and paint brushing thin walsh too. I used to work with Floquil paint in the past. It was a really good paint but too dusty and smelly. Badger Model Flex is the more sticky and harden paint I used ever. But it's a pain in the ass to clean at the end. I'm usually starting with a basic Flat dark brown color has overall first coat. Then I use very thin flat black, thin flat gray and a more rusty color on rails. I bought a pigment kit lately. I will try it to see how I can improve my artistic skills (!). Keep on your good work man.

Is that a No.6 knitting needle? 😁 You don't have point machines (manual or ekectric) under the table and on my layout (and grillions of others) the terminals on the under-table apparatus are used for wiring the signals. (Nothing you didn't know, of course).

#5. I’m personally not a fan of switch machines. Cost and complexity. Also I enjoy hand switching. Hence this solution. Appreciate the comment and thanks for watching.

Paul, are the switch stands difficult to build? I'm not the most experienced builder. Thanks in advance. Tim

Very easy to build. Let me know if you need help. Only fiddle factor is positioning them just right along side the turnout so the flag rotates fully. Email is in my channel profile.

Would this set up allow you to wire in multiple occupancy sensors to a signal addition to the one under the throw bar? Therefore if lined for green but a train is over the switch it would return to red until cleared up.

Probably. But that’s more complicated than my brain can handle. Also, I wouldn’t need that given how I operate. Worth a try if you have the need. Thanks for watching!
