Adding Flowerhorn fish to Megatank

Adding new fish to the monster fish tank is not a trivial matter - this time I add Humphrey the flowerhorn as tankmate to the Emperor Snakehead and Azule Bass.

Nice of you to try. We also have a large community tank with also a large snakehead and some very big cichlid8, but even small fish and if you just feed them enough they will be alright. And the funny thing is that the snakehead doesn't have to be the aggressor even though they've the largest theet. I think your flowerhorn will be the most agressieve and the snakehead will sometimes get a little annoyed and snap, but not out of own aggression. Well enjoy the process. And make places where they're not directly in each other's eyesight. Keep up the work.

humphrey is dominating the peacock and is stressing it out snakehead has shown dominance flowerhorns arnt really community fish it will end up stressing peacock out to much

Ideally, you should add more than one new fish at a time. And reduce the light if there is aggression

might be good for peacock and snakehead if you added a school of fish, that are hardy enough to escape Humphrey and take his attention away..

Flowerhorns live alone most of the time for a reason. That is not fun for either the bass or snakehead

I find that adding a small night light near the predator tanks will help cut down on some aggressive altercations. Also try adding some big dither fish.

Hi mate, love your content,great build. I added a school of silver dollars to my monster tank, they look great and school plus they take away tension in the tank :)

Silver dollars might be good to take the attention off the snake head and bass. The only problem I would have with doing that is it might stress Humphrey out after a while

I’d be very careful here the snakehead at night will make holes in that flowerhorn they don’t recover to well good luck

I would say add lots more fish, so the aggression is shared out Whilst adding dither fish 👍

Wow! I completely underestimated the size of those fish and the size of that tank! They are all gorgeous fish, but I don’t trust that snakehead 😂 he looks shifty. I’m worried for Humphrey! Now I have to go see if there’s an update on how he’s doing

Hi, love the journey of mega tank. I’m looking to build my own hexagonal tank next year (my fish room is a conservatory) I was just wondering retrospectively would you still use liquid rubber or revert to pond armour/shield??
