Adding SRT if you are 1 Sticking

Good video. This next season will be my first year of saddle hunting. I'm going SRT as my primary means and I have the Ultimate One Stick as my secondary. I plan on getting out and putting presets out everywhere this summer. I'm surprised there are not alot more people using this method it is super easy and fast to get up the tree.

That's the way I do it. I just use a different hand ascender. Great work!

I already have everything I need for one sticking and rappelling down including of course the rope and the safeguard. Can you please provide specifications (the names of the devices) you used in what you called "your SRT kit" which let you SRT back up the rope?

I am new to the srt method going to try it out this year, what are you doing to tie off your rope around the tree branch? Are you using an alpine butterfly or something else, if you did a video of setting the paracord then your climbing rope and the whole process that would be nice to watch.

I use 40ft of canyon c-iv attached to a notch v3 quickie. I girth hitch that around the tree at height using a preset loop. Scroll through my videos you will find alot more info. Also if you need any gear check out my webstore... RDAOUTDOORS.COM

Put the foot loop on the opposite hand from your hand ascender. It will reduce the "spin" factor. Enjoy bud. Good video 👍🏻

What would you do if there isn’t a branch or crotch for the paracord?

What friction hitch could replace the safeguard in this system? Could a ropeman or other ascender be used here that you wouldn't want to use while one sticking?

I would refer you to jrb climbing. He knows all about ropes and hitches

For one-stick climb with rappel down I have a very similar setup to what you show. I like your addition of SRT equipment for versatility. I haven't ever used SRT yet, but probably will try it. I am right handed. Do you recommend I buy the right or left hand ascender?

I use a kong Futura left hand ascender with a triangle quicklink and I sell aam adjustable amsteel foot loop on my site. Real Deal Amsteel
