This Chef is embodying a lot of Japanese counterculture in his aesthetic. Kinda refreshing in a teppanyaki setting

This looks so much more enjoyable thn the usual Japanese tepanyaki restaurants. Strong bbq with friends vibe, while the chef still keeps some distance. Amazing

Bit different cooking style from your other vid visits........loved how this chef put a nice "char" on one side of the steak and instead of cutting and cooking as cubes, left for you to cut and enjoy! As always, thanks for the experience. 👍
@neetchang13 күн бұрын
You are a good observer!This chef intentionally burns one side of the beef to a high char on purpose.I believe this technique maximizes the fat of fine Wagyu beef and brings out its umami flavor.

I like the calculated hotel style teppanyaki, but the wild style of this restaurant is also very good! The chef's style is also different from that of most Japanese chefs!

Hey. I really enjoy your work! I love watching steaks being cooked by clearly very skilled chefs. Plus there is an ASMR aspect to it for me which brings me to my question: do you perform post editing/processing with the sound? I notice that whenever there is a loud sound, the level dips and slowly returns. I’m an audio engineer (amongst other things…lots of work on my channel) and I have a good idea what is happening. I can smooth this out for you. I’d love to talk about it.
@SheyD78Ай бұрын
I wonder what Aden says to these chefs before filming. Chef it up, be natural, do whatever you normally do, do whatever you feel like? I wonder are they trying harder, or doing things the same way they always do? The answer doesn't really matter, but it would be interesting to know. I just wish I had a place like this near me.

205 grams Wagyu beef which I can purchase for about $11 USD in Tokushima, where I own a home. I don’t know what it cost in tourist overrun Kyoto (I’m there a lot) but probably quite a bit.

@ honestly the steaks I used to bbq from Costco turn out to be much more to my liking. I also have the ability to bbq over charcoal or to do on a flat iron surface, many people here cannot do bbq as they live in condominiums. I prefer charcoal! My dance card is quite full these days and I am not looking for a side hustle, thank you though.

Only problem is the torching of the steak,way way too close needs to be farther away so you dont get that butane taste,it makes all the difference
