Thanks, Harri, for a great reaction. Like Keith Urban, Jamie O'Neal is an Australian country singer (and beautiful, too!) who found success in Nashville in the early 2000s. In addition to this No. 1 country hit from 2001, she also reached No. 1 with her follow-up single, "When I Think About Angels" (both of which she co-wrote). Pop radio stations in the U.S. stopped regularly playing country songs in the 1980s, so a lot of Americans have probably never heard of Jamie or her songs before. "There Is No Arizona" peaked at No. 40 on the Billboard Hot 100. The late 1990s to mid-2000s spawned some very talented country artists and creative and catchy songs, in my opinion.

I really like Jamie O'Neal, and when this song came out, my marriage was at the beginning of the process of dying. I cranked the volume until the speakers threatened to blow, and I sang and cried. Someday I would love to see Sedona, the Painted Desert, and of course, the Grand Canyon. Love the song, and love the reaction! Her other song, When I Think About Angels is much happier and upbeat. Great request Marcus. This song always makes me a bit melancholy. My father left when I was 6 weeks old. I was in my late 20s when I found he was in Arizona. I sent him a certified letter. He died alone in a military hospital the day before the letter arrived. Great reaction Harri! She does have a great voice. Great analysis! Yes, there is no Arizona.

There is definitely an Arizona. That’s where the amazing Linda Ronstadt was born and raised. 😂 All joking aside, this was a great song. Thanks Marcus. I wasn’t familiar with this wonderful Australian artist but her voice is stunning and the song is very poignant and rings true. This very situation happened to my brother-in-law who was left behind in South Korea after his wife came here following her promise to send for him. I’m surprised Jamie O’Neal isn’t more widely known. Wonderful reaction Harri 🌺✌️
