Hey Harri! It’s been a busy month for Sir Elton! I guess many of us had the same music running through us. Thanks for your enthusiasm and insights. 🌸💐✌️

No matter how many times I've heard this song, the first line always goes straight to the soul.

Thanks so much for this amazing submission, Debbie! Just a gorgeous rendition of an incredibly well written song. The pure genius that is Elton John! Many thanks to you, Harri, for enjoying this request as much as I did.

Another beautiful orchestral song with haunting and sad vocals is "Tonight" by Elton John. You will get Diamonds in your ears as you listen to him perform the song on his "To Russia With Elton" concert from 1979. Or the original from the album "Blue Moves".

I saw EJ in '80 and '82. Both of those shows were in my Top 10 best concerts I have ever seen. Great song, performance and reaction! Thank you, Debbie and Harri!

I love this m. I’m going to recommend a song written by John Lennon and covered by Elton. The song ONE DAY AT A TIME was on the “B” side of Elton’s cover of Lennon’s LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS.

Such a great one -- when I saw him live, I was fixated on his fingers moving over the piano keys.....

About 20 years ago, Ray Charles made an album called Genius Loves Company. It is an album of Ray doing duets with various artists. Ray and Elton do this song! It’s awesome! Try to find any song from that album! 😉😁👍

One of his best songs ever, I always loved this song, the sound, the mood, the vibes and the epic lyrics !!

You said this too. The orchestra and background vocals are a rich envelope for him to sing in. I don't think I ever saw a band live with an orchestra behind it and I've seen many bands. I'm sure I would cry.

Back in the Nineties, he struggled with this song, and many other of his big hits, because he lost his upper register. Lots of growling going on. He managed to get a lot of the high notes back - he just can't hold them out long. Different phrasing. His band mates hit the high notes for him. But it's beautiful and I have tremendous respect for the fact that at 76, he keeps adapting his voice and adapting his phrasing to where he sounds just as good as he did thirty or forty years ago. Not the same, but every bit as beautiful. Wonder if he has a vocal coach. This was an amazing performance.

I know he had a big operation on his voice.Do you think the initial cause was his lifestyle catching up with him or just the wear and tear of all those shows he had to do?

Originally from the 1976 album, "Blue Moves", this heartbreaking and melancholic ballad is one of Elton's best songs. From the intro, with the strings grabbing your heart, to Elton's magical slicing of the keys to indicate the pain and heartbreak on the piano, while delivering Bernie's desperate crys from his lyrics, invading our souls. This live version is just spectacular, the full orchestral accompaniment just illuminating the emotions of this masterpiece and Elton's vocals to a plateau of excellence. ❤️ Great reaction Handsome Harri ❤❤ Fabulous choice Debbie ❤👏👏 Cheers from Canada ❤❤🇨🇦🇨🇦

Hitting some great stuff Harri. And Debbie, I think, requested it, ty. 😊 Sir Elton, like so many others, I'm sure, played an important role in our youth. He is a genius. 💞
