Love those early obscurities! Another benefit to using those modifier keys is, even if you stick with the BIOS, they're the cheapest (code-wise) to read, which is why most of those tiny 'sizecoding' games use them as well.

Huh. That's a totally cool move with the keyboard handling - interesting little factoid, along with an interesting little game too!

The alien looks like a fat version of those ones from the first Commander Keen.

The gameplay of platforming and picking up and dropping items reminds me of the Dizzy series.

+weirdproq1 ...now that you mention it, this game DOES remind me of the Dizzy series... just with a million times less death. ;D

The link provided doesen't allow the sound to be played under Dosbox turbo.
@Pixelmusement8 жыл бұрын
The sound will glitch out if the cycles count is set too high, as the sound playback is tied to the game speed.

I had this on a shareware CD but never played it beyond the first few screens :) If you're looking for another obscure adventure-y game, see "Menace of Dr. Spoil Sport" (also found on the same shareware CD :D )

At least they didn't use sysreq as part of the controls. :P Oh and raising elephants is so utterly boring. [edit] The f key has a little indent on most keyboards, as its the end of the homerow. Doesn't actually sound too bad.

Nobody got the guess? I know I sure as heck didn't even try. By the way, I get the feeling that the filler is going to be about Slime Rancher. I really should give that a try.
@Pixelmusement8 жыл бұрын
Actually, TECHNICALLY one person got the guess, but they didn't submit it through normal means and didn't actually care to after I mentioned they could. So, in a sense, there was ONE correct guess, but it was completely anonymous. ;)

I actually have this game from the original PC Plus disk and no, it didn't come with the source code.
@JimLeonard8 жыл бұрын
Is the source code needed? The game is a single 64K .COM file written in assembler; it would be pretty easy to disassemble it and produce source code for it.

The joy of .COM files. I played around with DEBUG.EXE quite a lot trying to figure things out. But I was just answering the question Kris posed in the video :)
