The ADHD burnout cycle starts with taking on more than we can handle, then trying to maintain a ridiculously unmanageable load, only to fail, burnout and then cycle, rinse, repeat.
In this personal video, I share the LAST time I went through an ADHD burnout cycle and how I've managed to create boundaries, self-care routines and realistic expectations for myself.
There's no quick fix to this issue, but there are ways to look at how you're contributing to your own demise and take steps to create a more structured, enjoyable life that aligns with your brain, your energy and your strengths.
I hope you enjoy it.

Omg same! I had a full list of like 30 jobs, including McDonald's so I could eat free obviously lol, and my parents insisted I couldn't do them all at once so I obviously refused to accept that and made a whole schedule for how I would do each job 1 day a month 😆

I'm 53 and am going through the exact thing. I've been doing the same career for over 30 years and an working 6 days a week every week. And don't like what I do for a living anymore and am trying to get out of it by starting a side hustle

I have adhd and I think I’m experiencing burnout I have no desire to do anything and I’m at the point I take so much time off at my job idk how much longer they’re gonna keep me around. I hit a wall mid day and just can’t continue…. Is there any specific videos of yours you’d recommend watching first? Any other resources you may have would be so so appreciated… I’m at a point where idk what to do where to start or how to make my life better for me. Just totally overwhelmed. Crying and laughing about the fact that I’m crying while I type this. I’m just a damn mess 😭😂 I’ve watched a few of your videos. And I love your point if view ❤️

Hey Krystle, what's happening mid day when you "hit a wall"? Is it energy? Focus? Emotional dysregulation? I'd love to know more about that. If it's energy, it could be related to your sleep, or what you're eating (this is very likely if it happens at the same time every day). Or, it might be that your brain gets tired. Are you on meds? Are they running out at that time? So many things to consider here. Start getting curious without judgement.

You already admitting that there's a problem _(BIG and important step btw!)_ will take you into the right direction. Next you'll need to investigate wich factors in your life are feeding it! So you are on the right track - open up to people, get (maybe professional) help, then map your current life and where you wanna go from here. 🌬️⛵✨

Or, if you've got a dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system i.e. ME / CFS this could explain why your battery goes flat quickly. It's good to get curious and find patterns. And seek support, I hope you have someone in real time that you can discuss your situation with and bounce ideas around. Wishing you all the best. ❤❤❤

The same thing happened to me around 2012. And then again a couple of times all over again. Then I got diagnosed with ADHD and finally started to connect the dots. Been focusing on the minimalist path, and it does actually help me improve my understanding of who I am and to start listening to my "inner voice" before taking actions. The way you describe the hole "Wait a minute! So THIS is what's happening to me?" situation is something I'm sure anyone who's been hitting the wall can relate to. Just as anyone doing it as a consequence of undiagnosed ADHD can confirm the difficulty in realizing what's about to happen before it actually happens. Even when it happens again, and again.. Will definitely check out your channel for more tips on how to cope with the struggles of life that the society of today is posing to anyone with ADHD-functionality. Thanks for being a source of inspiration to the rest of us!

You, before figuring this out, sounds exactly like me now. 52 yr old male here. Ironically just yesterday I put on a index card the two things I am going to work on in an effort to actually move a needle that's been really active but pointing no where.

It's hard to be creative when you're exhausted. Outside of work, when is your energy at it's best? Why do you want to create videos? It comes down to energy management and having a strong why for following through. Good luck!

I've been struggling on and off for a while now, I never recooup and I feel so faulty for being the way I am. I work corporate and I don't know how to handle it sometimes. I need the money but also need to change the way I see myself and cope, living with ADHD is so hard :(
