Most of these comments are horrendous. Individuals with ADHD have a real attention deficit disorder. That doesn't make them children or incapable of functioning. It gives them certain difficulties others do not have, that they have to deal with for the rest of their lives. As a society it is our duty to aid those who need a little more help then others. People with ADHD are innovators and creative types. Elon Musk has ADHD.

Actually, they don't suffer from a lack of attention. Instead, ADHDers have their attention literally everywhere. 😉

“Evolving to understand the complexities of it. “… I’m a a special education aide , and have worked in a public school for 23 plus years now. I was born in 67 and back then there were no special education support classes for me so I was abused by the public school teachers. I had my wrist beat with a ruler daily and I was just scared to tell my mom because the teacher had told me Your mom won’t believe you. I have ADHD and I was one of those kids and I think society forgets that those kids become adults with ADHD and adults around you expect you lol outgrew it or something if you share that back with them but that’s not the case you’re still the same person with the same ADHD. Can you do a podcast on this fact. I am not really quiet about my situation when I can sense people know I’m different so I share a conversation with them so they understand but some people say oh I have it too. oh no, that’s just a cop out an excuse, but they have their own struggles with their own things, but aren’t compassionate to other people

Some ADHD folks have autism/savant syndrome. Or at least highly functional. Just get a bit distracted easily, lol

@@randymulligan8083 personal experience. I just didn’t care in school. I was forced on these meds after being diagnosed with ADHA after one meeting with a psychologist because of my carelessness. I was literally a zombie for 12 hours a day. Lost weight, appetite loss, low energy etc. these “meds” are not the correct treatment. They are narcotics that cause serious addiction that simply get tossed on any teen/young adult they can possibly have it stick too. Nonsense. You are the idio*.

Granted - It can be, if its manageable. Treating it as merely a "trait" can help remove some of the feeling of stigma from it, helping us focus more on what to do about it, rather than get upset at it. At the same time, typically when a trait disrupts a person's daily life sufficiently, that's where the "disorder" classification starts to come into play.

If you have no self control or aren’t capable of paying “attention” as an adult… then you are a child.

@@TheMarketRecap millions fake mental illness… psychologists work in tandem with whom again? Oh that’s right big pharmaceutical companies to push drugs most of us don’t need for illnesses that are scientifically “new” that we really don’t know how to treat. I was diagnosed at 15 with ADHD. Took some of the strongest medication on the market. I was a zombie… this is a disgusting addictive drug. You don’t need to be a “psychologist” to work any of that out.

@@TheMarketRecap also if these people do have a “mental illness” why on earth are they roaming the streets, owning property such as firearms, or voting? Oh that’s right… we had to be nice to the mentally ill and let them out of their asylums to be weird on the streets.

@@randymulligan8083 if I may be 100% honest I think most of this “mental illness” can be cleared right up with blasting the person in the chin one solid time. These are children with fathers who never put their hands on them and they grew up thinking they can act literally any which way they want and get away with it.
