I bought an rf900r couple weeks back after watching your review and upgrade videos on it. Bought it without test ride due to seized rear brake and carb issues. After seeing this i hope the dogs are ok! lol Great videos mate.

Thanks buddy, happy that fellow riders benefit from the content. Hope that getting your bike on the road won't be too much hassle, once running well those are stellar machines, especially considering their prices ! All the best !

Man this is great but I wish you would have shown how to put the case back together and how you managed the shift forks during assembly.

Will have that on the channel in couple of months. I did another engine rebuild and filmed everything so it will appear here.

You're getting that lovely RS2? That's one sweet ride! So jealous ! This nut buster is a Dewalt XR DCF899. It's the most hardcore cordless buster you can get. I used it for suspension and diff work on my old Jeep and it takes huge rusty bolts off like they were toys! Awsome tool! Regards !

awesome video bro! I got a rf600 myself. I got a problem with the idle, no mather now hard I press down the clutch pedal it keeps dying in neutral. Do you know how to adjust it?
@matheodiep13642 жыл бұрын
You probably just need to adjust the idle with the idle screw on the left side of the bike so it runs between 1100 to 1300 rpms at idle

i know this is an old video but does anyone know if this is the same process for a 88-97 katana 600

@Adikxx4 жыл бұрын
Jak 2ka wyskakuje pod obciazeniem to skrzynia do roboty. Dosc powszechna usterka dla wodnych silnikow Suzuki z lat 90ych(RFy i GSXRy). Tryby 2giego biegu do wymiany. Ewentualnie kly do podciecia zeby sie dobrze zazebialy, ale to jest tylko mozliwe jesli jeszcze cos z nich zostalo.
@mkubas114 жыл бұрын
Mógł byś mi podać minutę swojego filmu na którym pokazujesz tryb 2 biegu . Jutro zaczynam rozbierać silnik i ocenie szkody

Dzięki wielkie kolego rozebralem silnik ,poszedł szlif trybu i śmiga lepiej niż przed usterka .

Great video! But is this the same engine in the 91 katana 600?
@Adikxx3 жыл бұрын
Different engines but most of principles for disassembly will work for it too
@CagedChillin2 жыл бұрын
is this the same for suzuki gsxf 600 and 750 (katana)

It's not identical but similar enough.

hello a question, I have a suzuki rf 900 and I have problems with stage 2 if I lift it in turns it skates it doesn't shoot, if I accelerate slowly it works what can be you can help me, only stage 2 makes problems
@Adikxx4 жыл бұрын
Sorry i didn't quite understand. Do you mean you have a problem with second gear? When you accelerate rapidly in second gear it slips out? And when you accelerate gently it's fine? If this is what you have then you need to replace teo cogs of second gear and selector forks in your gearbox. Or find a complete used good box and swap them
@lucboxvsbox4 жыл бұрын
@@Adikxx if you accelerate aggressively don't shoot in step 2
@lucboxvsbox4 жыл бұрын
if I accelerate slowly go to step 2

Anyone ever seen someone put the 1100 gsxr transmission on it? Can you just get the insides of one and slap it in place of the broken insides of the rf900? And if not can you just take the whole gear box from the 1100 and bolt it right In place of the OEM 900 one? Please I'm stuck and its killing me. I'm so ready to ride this thing lol
@Adikxx4 жыл бұрын
GSXR 1100W has the same transmission as RF900. Both 5 speed with identical gear ratios: 1st-2.714; 2nd-1.809; 3rd-1.409; 4th-1.181; 5th-1.038. GSXR has a tad different final gear ratio only because it uses 42 rear sprocket instead of 43 that can be found in RF900. So effectively if you put 43 teeth rear sprocket on GSXR 1100 you'll end up will literally identical gearing as stock RF900. Either way tranny is the same in both. 2nd gear problems used to happen on all water cooled engines that Suzuki made in 90s (RF600,900, GSXR 750W and GSXR 1100). Strangely Thug 1200 has gears undercut from factory..maybe Suzuki learnt the lesson and realised it's sth that needs to be done to torquey motors..
@jamesrisley27864 жыл бұрын
@@Adikxx awesome man thanks. I think I'm gonna have my factory gears undercut. Seems to be the best thing to do
