I took a drive to the Adirondack mountains with my girlfriend Tracey and our dog Sammy for our first camping trip of 2023. We hiked about 3 miles to a remote pond that we hadn't been to yet in search of some beautiful Adirondack brook trout. I brought my lightweight Hornbeck canoe along with me making it my first paddle of the year as well. We caught some beautiful fish, had great weather, and ate well. Just an awesome time with great memories made. I hope you enjoy the video, and thanks for stopping by!

Those brookies definitely were a great way to kick off the season, I couldn't believe how colored up they were. Tracey was definitely excited about catching hers, I was too because I feel bad when she gets skunked. Thanks for watching and stopping by to comment, very much appreciated!

Nice way to start your season. It was especially nice to hear the peepers, I've always had them in a field behind my house but for the first time in 45yrs there were none this spring. Guess the field wasn't wet enough.

I was using a chartreuse and orange rooster tail spinner with 6lb fluorocarbon line. I have had great success with that color combination fishing for brook trout. Thanks for watching, very much appreciated!

its too bad the brook trout fishing is nothing like it used to be, the state record is only 6 lbs, New York has failed to properly protect its native fisheries

I agree 100 percent, it could be so much better with the right management.
