Adirondack Paddle to Peak Adventure | Saint Regis Canoe Area

On this Adirondack Canoe & Mountain adventure we paddle Upper Saint Regis Lake and hike Saint Regis Mountain in one super fun day trip. We paddle to the Spring Bay trailhead and hike up to the Saint Regis Mountain Fire Tower. We really love this little-known trailhead to the summit. The launch point is in the Saranac Lakes Wild Forest. The Saint Regis Mountain summit is in the St Regis Canoe Wilderness.

I'm paddling a Placid Boatworks Rapidfire and my wife is paddling a Placid Boatworks Oseetah which are lightweight solo canoes.
** IMPORTANT NOTE ON DRONE USE **
Before launching a drone be aware of the FAA rules on usage and restrictions. The Adirondacks also have their own set of rules regarding drone use. You are not allowed to launch and operate a drone from within the Saint Regis Canoe Wilderness boundary. Our shots were taken outside the no-fly boundary and the drone kept within our line of sight. Superbly executed video. Your integrated use of tripod placement for walk-by clips, walk past clips, and walk away from clips adds immensely to the viewing pleasure and that all-important, difficult to achieve "being there" feeling for the viewer. Truly fabulous result!

I really, really appreciate you saying that. There is a lot of running back and forth to get the cameras... but I think it is well worth it. Plus the extra running around keeps me in shape :-)

May I ask if you wear a pair of sandals when you paddle and switch to hiking shoes? It's spectacular.--5;27. This is crafty work, transition---6;12. Well done and keep coming. 🙋‍♀🙋‍♀🛶🛶

Hi and thanks for the very nice comment and feedback. It is very much appreciated. I wear standard crocs... and my wife wears croc sandals.... we've tried every kind of paddling footwear and we always settle on our Crocs. We put our hiking boots (Oboz Sawtooth are our reference) in dry bags and put them on before a hike. We often wear our Crocs for small hikes and on most portages (carries)... but this mountain was more rugged and called for real hiking boots. Happy paddling to you :-)

How do you secure your canoes to avoid theft at the trailhead?

I feel this trailhead is pretty safe to leave things unlocked. But in other cases we carry a long cable and wind it through the thwarts and lock them up.

@@CanoeCampClimb is there parking at the boat launch for overnight camping. Was looking to stay 2 nights

@@barkeater8733 as a general rule of thumb.. no overnight camping is allowed at any trailhead or boat launch in the Adirondacks. There is a nice campground nearby called Fish Creek Ponds that I highly recommend
