Hello Ashish, After watching this video, I am confused and want clarification please. As you said in the following example, "demotivated" is used as a past participle that is modifying the word "man". When we write it in the form of relative clause, it gives to me a sence of passive voice because the "man" recieved the action of demotivation and similarly in other examples which you quoted. Would you mind explaing it please? Thank you A demotivated man can not bring a change. Or A man who is demotivated can not bring a change.

You are confusing it with an action verb. Both these sentences mean the same.

Hello Dear Ashish, I am watching this vedio again just to get this conecpet. Please let me know whether I am wrong or not. If past participle modifies the subjet, then it is used as a adjective. For instance, I am confused. In this sentence, confused is modifying the subject "I" that is why it is acting as a past participle adjective. For example, I am writing. In this example, writing is not modifing the subject "I" therefore; "writing" is a verb. Thank you and stay blessed!

@EnglishWithAshish
@EnglishWithAshish 4 жыл бұрын
Hey, Sunil! When verbs are changed into past participle, passive voice, some of them show a state of a noun and work as an adjective. • He motivates me. (Active voice, Present indefinite) • I am motivated (by him). (Passive voice, Present indefinite) Here, MOTIVATED shows the state of the subject I and works as a. Adjective. Even though, it's just a verb (past participle) in passive form. • We have been INSPIRED. • Jon is DEPRESSED. These are in passive voice, these actions have been performed by others but affecting us. Some verbs don't work as adjectives when they are changed in passive voice. • I am TAUGHT some great things. • We have been TRANSFERRED the papers. • She was HANDED the keys. These are not working as adjectives as they don't show any state of the subject. Hope this helps! Keep learning! Stay safe! 😊
