Thank you so much for the lesson and the cool starter asset!

yeah I learn best by reverse engineering pre built assets, I've learned soo much from this, exactly what i was looking for! keep up the good work my guy!

Do you have optimization tips for Niagara? Many assets sold in the market are terrible in terms of optimization. For example, I added Niagara Shooting VFX to the end of the barrel of my gun, the performance was decreasing as I shot. When I removed the VFX, the problem was solved. but vfx required

I would not be able to claim to know optimization skills in Niagara other than just simple logical things. Like, keep computations simple, don't go overboard with amount of particles, don't have too many lights, keep your textures to a reasonable resolution etc. Maybe further down the line I may have some better insight into performance issues.

is it sparks? or is it the muzzle flash and sparks or maybe the bit of that recoil gas thingy (fog?) whichever it maybe I can suggest this for optimization's sake. If you believe it to be muzzle fog or sparks, flip books are best, but requires bit knowledge of blender or houdini. Mostly it is a material which is applied to a plane which flips through texture tiles. Pretty easy and well optimized. It is only effective as long as camera is looking at it from a specific angle so do keep that in mind ^^ ("In PS3 era this was a common solution to overhead particles problem").

@@Master_Poizan both spark and recoil gas,I don't usually make these myself, I use ready-made ones from the market, but thanks for your answer, maybe I'll try them one day.

@@mobildisko579 Agreed, but if you seek to optimize I do suggest cutting corner every now and then haha. ^^

for some reason, the particles aren't showing up when I put them in my scene

i am new to unreal engine and I can't figure out how to add it to my project after downloading it from the description

It already is in a project to begin with, no adding needed.
