@Derrick F Oh, I gotcha.. Florida is actually a great home state because you can also pursue daily claims and Florida is a great place for that. Also Florida can be a hurricane magnet. For hail, you might work Denver one year and Dallas the next, then Phoenix.. So it doesn't make any sense to move to chase hail.

Always give a one hour window because you never know what to expect. Traffic is a perfect example. Also some insureds talk to much look at this look at this. Watched this video 3 years ago and have never turned down a claim. Live in central texas and go to Oklahoma boarder to Louisiana boarder to Mexico Mexico boarder. Have gone as far west as San Saba. But would go to New Mexico boarder if asked.

What do you think of the value of the New York license?
@AdjusterTV
@AdjusterTV 6 жыл бұрын
:) I recommend getting these 5 licenses FIRST: 1. your home state - if your home state doesn't have a licensing requirement, then I'd make Indiana your DHS 2. Texas 3. Oklahoma 4. Minnesota 5. Florida After that, you can dig into trying to get NY if you want. It's a lot more challenging than many other licenses. Also, NY doesn't get a whole lot of hail. Usually, if I work NY it's for hurricane or snow. And those don't always happen every year. The midwest from Texas to the Canadian border and from Colorado to Ohio is generally where I work the most as a cat adjuster. I'll put it this way, I make 95% of my money in the midwest. Coastal stuff, CA, NY, etc are usually things that happen occasionally and I consider gravy when I've already worked a ton of hail in the midwest.

Hello, I’m a full time firefighter (24 on 48 off). I’d like to do adjusting part time to start. Not trying to get rich, but have good supplemental income with possible CAT deployment. I live in north Texas. Would adjusting be a good move?
@AdjusterTV
@AdjusterTV 6 жыл бұрын
Well, it depends.. if you’re able to leave home for several weeks/possibly months at a time, it can be a good move. North Texas gets hit with hail all the time so you might not have to travel far. But a typical cat deployment is very busy for at least the first couple of weeks. As in 16 hour days 7 days a week kinda thing.

@AJ-ox8xy
@AJ-ox8xy 6 жыл бұрын
@@gregorywoodbury7415 hey... generally speaking as an IA no there is not part time work, as most of the work is seasonal. Some parts of the year the work is plentiful and you will be working full-time plus overtime. Other parts of the year you will struggle to find anything to do.

Depends. If you do cat, you can earn that by running with the same firm all through storm season. If you want to do that on daily, yes, you'll likely need to run with multiple firms.

Hi Matthew. I'm seriously thinking of going into IA claims and I live in Florida. Do you think six-figures (or near it) is possible without leaving this state?
@AdjusterTV
@AdjusterTV 4 жыл бұрын
I would say to start, probably not. Most IA firms won't hire new IAs to run daily claims. If you have a couple of seasons of cat work under your belt then IA firms will be much more likely to start sending you daily work. So yes.. it is POSSIBLE.. but you'll probably need to work up to it. Make sense? Everything about this career takes patience and some grit.:)
