Great comparison, I really appreciate the information and opinions you have shared. I myself have just purchased a 32 foot travel trailer, but unlike the opinion you shared I use it quite a bit as during the spring I am usually using a trailer for my funtime job of white water river guide in Ocoee Tenn. I can say that doing the math and understanding your financial limitations is important in making this decision. So kudos to you Matt and Mrs. Matt, I loved your time management course and really do enjoy watching your videos.

I used a 4x8 teardrop. Slept in rest stop while deployed. Showers at flying j Zero cost I am now deployed in Mobile. So it’s more like moving here first mo th was hotel 2 k per month Now renting house for four hundred Saving cash

Hello Matt, quick question, how restricted/full are RV parks in a major deployment such as hurricanes. I imagine a great deal of IA's run with RV's. Does the landscape for RV's change in these areas during reconstruction?

On hurricane Katrina all my claims were in western Mississippi. The closest campground I could find was in Mobile, AL. Of course, it was also $230 a month.

I've got a converted mini school bus, I guess this would be pretty good as an RV. What would you say is the main difficulties with parking when hitting specific sites?

I think it's a great option, however, I wouldn't suggest living in it while you're running claims. In other words, don't roll up to a property inspection in your RV. Carriers frown on this.

What's your advice on a sprinter or transit conversion?

The point of the RV is to have an inexpensive way to live away from home on cat. Sprinters/Transits are cool, but not inexpensive. Also, people get the idea that they can sleep in them on the street or just drive the sprinter around to their claims but this idea really only makes sense until a person actually lives in an RV. Then they see that it's not super practical. It certainly can be done and I'm sure people do it, but imho way more trouble than it's worth packing and unpacking everything every single day twice a day. For newbies, hotel is the way to go for the first couple of years.

Does anyone here run a "slide-in" / "truck camper" ? Has the NI or carrier said anything against it? I like to be able to stay closer to the claims, and I'm usually deployed to places that either require lots of windshield time or like DFW that just doesn't have RV sites nearby. I've got my eye on a truck camper that has an onboard generator, other than showing up with your house on the back of the truck it seems perfect. My other thought is to get a white Sprinter van, but I like my current truck and know how to work on it.
