Hi. I sure apriciate your information..years ago I raced a datsun 510 on a 1/4mile assault track. I was so lucky my car was consistent..so now I'm learning outlaw gokart with wings. But I'm not at the track and I can't get my nephew to call me on race day..most of what you said I've tried to tell him..his 2 boys are driving. 7 years and 4 years old..Kade is a real naturol..brex is idling and waving to the crowd and the cars passing him..also there grand dad is racing now ..oh I'm building 2 karts also..so thanks and keep up the good work..on your board you can box around free and loose..and I forgot the 3rd description you used. But if you can associate all the terms with one condition. It may help small brain guys like me..and the camber adjustment was a idea to add cross I didn't consider..now I just need to find the guys with bigg pockets to sell rims to me realy cheep I'm retired and poor..but with being poor decisions can make all the diffrance Thanks

I run 1.75" rear stagger & it corners great. Ran 1.25" stagger on new tires & it pushes . What adjustment could I do to help cornering besides stretching a tire to get that 1.75" stagger. Currently 54% cross
@kart6t3_ben5 күн бұрын
With the less rear stagger you might need to increase nose weight to compensate for that to help the turn. The 1.75 is mechanically forcing the kart to turn. Maybe split the difference if you can and go 1.5? 54% cross is pretty low, maybe increase that a little? Get it closer to 60ish? Worth a shot to see what happens.

Great topic and explanation. I raise and lower the front spindles quite a bit. They are definitely a lot bigger adjustments then you would think. And moving rear hubs also.

Yes. It’s very effective. Most chase tires only. Both works better. Imo.

Love your content Ben. I raced karts at Frozen Ocean and Paradise in the late nineties and early two thousands. I wish KZbin was around when I started. Would have made things much easier. Watching your videos rekindled my interest in karting!

No doubt. So much knowledge in the palm of your hand. Still race at Dise and love it. Big n fast.

I'm not sure I'd the term "crutch" applies as much to karts. But it's good if you can teach about what it is..ther can be more thenone solution to your handling problems. But usually one is almost the best thing to do..the other adjustments may change more then one thing.and handling did get better but then your speeds may have suffered..just more to learn..thanks again

Ive got a 19 duece. Was tight center off. Ended up being the tires. It doesnt like 2.5 year old tires.

Prc will tel you just that. Deuce enjoys newer bity’er tires. Have some experience with that.

I misread the tape measure once and had the LR an inch to far in still won heat and feature but it was a little snug.

Great content as always. Do you think there is much difference between the wedge body and regular body on short tracks or mostly just on the bigger high speed tracks? Thanks
@kart6t3_ben2 жыл бұрын
Leaning on the air is big on either with the side panels. The wings or backplates definitely have more of a effect on the big tracks.

get job my grandsons kart 2009 falcon. he het wall front right. replaced right tie rod. now kart pulls to right with hands off steering wheel.
@kart6t3_ben2 жыл бұрын
Wonder if the toe is off? If that’s square and proper stagger it should always pull left.
@darrellkelso99152 жыл бұрын
So, what chassis are high and which ones are low cross? Are most newer chassis high cross?
@charlesdonovan42342 жыл бұрын
Will ck thanks
@kart6t3_ben2 жыл бұрын
@@darrellkelso9915 yes. I’d say 05-10 was “mid cross” 58 to low 60s. the 2010 to current would be considered high cross 64-70% chassis. In my opinion of coarse. 😁

So when you say a low cross chassis, are you talking about like older frame? Because a lot of the newer go-karts run higher cross right what are you considering the differences of a low and a high cross go kart
@kart6t3_ben10 ай бұрын
Yes. Low as in older type chassis. I’d consider low 50-60ish cross. High to be 61 up. It’s a generalized concept so not dead on.

What would you do to make a go-kart stop sliding in the rear end pretty much all the way around the corner when it has tread Maxxis tires and the left rear is the same exact size as the left front
@kart6t3_ben10 ай бұрын
I might play with tire pressure or if the rear isn’t biting you may be to light in the rear of the kart. Possibly move seat back to add weight to the rear?
@tomlarcher12 жыл бұрын
Strange, we've been spacing the LR out to tighten our Triton karts when they are too loose and in to loosen. About the only adjustment we make.
@kart6t3_ben2 жыл бұрын
Really? Well do what works For you. Might have something to do with weight transfer and how quickly or not it’s happening.
@migratorygame74002 жыл бұрын
If you're tight, spread the rear wheels apart to make them wider will loosen the kart up? So if your loose slide them in closer to each other?
@kart6t3_ben2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that’s the way I’ve always known it to work. I did it in Florida a couple years ago. Needed to shed some bite.
@madmaxx8506 ай бұрын
I always thought it was the opposite. The narrower the rear end the looser the kart will get.

Question.... This past weekend my kart seemed to be hooked up very well... I did notice that I was lifting my left front tire midway and exiting the corner. Is that a bad thing? Does this mean my kart is too tight?
@kart6t3_ben Жыл бұрын
That is quite hooked up. If it was fast and steering well then that’s not too tight in my opinion.

How do you know when to run more stagger or less stagger
@dynamicdopamine10 ай бұрын
Does it have to do with the width of the tires that you're using
@kart6t3_ben10 ай бұрын
It can. The LR rim width can be used to adjust stagger. The wider the rim the smaller the circumference should be around. As far as how to know is hard to determine. Typically if it doesn’t rotate center very well it may need more stagger.

I have 9yr old daughter who's new to racing. Coming out of turn her rear end slides bad. What can I do to help her she has an older legend chassis
@kart6t3_ben2 жыл бұрын
Lighter drivers are a little hard to setup for because moving the seat doesn’t have a huge swing in weight. But if you can…..She might have too much front weight in the kart. Or try and put some cross (LR to RF) into it If you’ve gone a little to far on one of these just come back a little.
