The earlier generation BMW S1000RR motorcycles, in our case the 2015/2016 model, are fitted with an Eccentric Support at the top of the rear shock where it mounts to the frame. This eccentric can be rotated to change the position of the rear shock by 2.5mm. When in its standard configuration, the eccentric hole is towards the bottom. So when the eccentric is rotated, it will effectively lower the bike at the rear by 2.5mm at the shock. We made this rotation and found that the rear of the bike above the tyre is lowered by some 5 to 6mm.
As a side note, we had a reason for doing this to set a specific geometry for this particular motorcycle and its configuration which is explained in the video.
At the time of making this video, we were looking into different options that were offered on the web. These included the following:
ZERO OFFSET KIT - A centred hole eccentric support offered by Forsaken Motorsports - www.forsakenmo...
1MM TO 4MM OFFSET KIT - A multiple eccentric support kit offered by Reactive Parts - reactiveparts....
