our first tv was an admiral with built-in am radio and turntable on top. it had a beautiful wood cabinst with doors and a 12' speaker. i used it to play my bass guitar through. it thumped real good for a tv! i think it was a 1953 model.

Admiral is now a house brand of Home Depot. The appliances are mostly made by Whirlpool.

You are sooooooo correct about todays AM radio material being crap! I would be interested in a low power AM transmitter that could send a signal through your home. Blue tooth is great but being able to tune in a station from static to a strong signal is just rewarding.

Great job Seth. Will be an instant seller if you could get the speed working correctly. Maybe the new buyer will do that.

Does Sal have a website or some way of contacting him so others can purchase from him?
@hestheMaster Жыл бұрын
Searching for Sal's is easy but mentioning his actual website is forbidden to mention on YT as your message will be deleted.

It would be more amusing if you replaced the cord and plugged it in so we can see the before. Then replace the caps. We are not looking for safety. Glasslinger and a few others plug theirs in first.

I agree. Like how Shango066 does, we like to see the operation if any before then the process of diagnosing any issues, then the after performance of it working. Ideally get the worst shape you can find donations or source your own and make similar (resurrection) videos as Shango does. Those are my favorites especially of old 40 60 era tv sets!

6 tubes, but it uses a 12BA6 as a mixer and a 12J5 as an oscillator (instead of a single 12BE6 or 12SA7), so it really ISN'T any better than a normal AA5 radio.

Also surprised you did no bluetooth mod this time, to get FM. I initially was not very confident the record player was salvageable, kudos to you again for working some magic on these old pieces of history.

I actually have this in Black Bakelite. I recapped the radio about 20 years ago and it does not sound too bad. However I threw out that piece of garbage record changer that was inside of it those record changes are trash and useless and I'm not reliable. I was able to retrofit a. Record changer made by the voice of music that is a much more reliable indestructible record changer. Do not be surprised if you try and sell that unit to somebody and it comes back to haunt you because of the record changer.
