An experienced army can reconstruct and use learnt lessons with all the variations of a large varied war rapidly .. the Russian challenge is to make it worthwhile that those experienced soldiers stay in the forces and thus all equipment losses are secondary

I note that lately the British army has wisely increased pay to its soldiers a basic first step to keeping quality and motivation within a future enlarged force.
