Adoption day at the GAP kennels

We made the decision to adopt a retired racing greyhound 21 years ago. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. We’ve now adopted 3 over the years and each hound chose us in a similar meet a few and see which binds to you and each family member. It makes me so happy to see another hound find a living home. They really do make wonderful family members and get quite chilled out at they age. Most sleep up to 18 hours a day but still love an occasional race around our fenced yard.

I was thrilled that another greyhound found a good home. If people kew how loving and soft greyhounds are, many more would be adopted. I take mine out for people to meet him, and he is a therapy dog, so lots of people are finding out aboutr greyhounds, and I think he has convinced a few people to adopt.

Greyhound Homecare we've had a boy named Louis for nearly 2 years and it has been amazing! He's ok with the cats and doesn't chase after them which is good. He is just so cute and a big ball of joy! 🐶❤️

Greyhounds make the most amazing pets. No other dog even comes close on cleanliness, intelligence, affection, cuteness - you name it. They're loyal and sensitive, truly majestic little people 🦄 Note on the video: She should not be matching the dog to the people. The people should simply bond with the dogs. It's also as much about how the dog connects with them. We have a rescue retired greyhound, life with him is amazing as it was with my last two before they got old and passed.

I contacted GAPSA for a dog, but was told there was an 8 week wait while the dog is fostered and taught to be a pet. The following day a dog came in and needed a foster home, so GAPSA phoned me and asked if I would 'foster to adopt'. If it didn't work out, I could return him to be adopted by someone else. I sent an email to GAPSA after 3 days telling them "You're not getting your dog back". That was 4 years ago and the thrill of owning a greyhound is still there.

I'm sorry, is this a video about greyhounds or MUSIC. VERY ANNOYING. I'm quite capable of listening to content without the blasted competing noise. I adopted to ex racing greyhounds 2 days ago and didn't hear anything except a few barks.
