Eduardo Araki he's very fun to learn from. Very informative. I know I've applied a lot of what he teaches in my own photography! I hope you're able to do so as well.

Gonna go out on a limb here and say that if you believed he made mistakes then he really did a great job in the video. The Gavster knew what the outcome was for each setup and manufactured the "mistakes" to demonstrate the problem solving process for us viewers. It's a technique used to help us learn, and he's darn good at it too.

Thanks Gavin. That tip on covering half a regular softbox to get a striplight was gold. Can't believe I hadn't thought of it before. Those shots would look great in B&W as well.
@GavinHoey4 жыл бұрын
Thanks Tim. It's an oldie tip but a goodie! The original plan was to go B&W but when I added the bubbles, they're was just enough colour to make it worth keeping.

Hi Gavin. Loved this tutorial, as this will be my first time trying a photo like this. Quick question: how do you create the black area right in front of the photo, if you had light behind you when taking the picture? I totally understand how the backlights work, but thought you should have no light at the photographer side when shooting. Thanks so much in advance
