I liked that you tried it on. It really helps to see how weird it looks as a work in progress. Thanks!

I made it and because I am much smaller than I used to be although my arms are still from my bigger self, I added more than four stitches under the arm and then continued making the body, found out it was looking very bad that way soooo frogged the whole thing and started over of course and now am putting on the arms and will do the bands on the arms and bottom and at the neck too as its too big as is. Customize well yes I am learning thanks to you of course.

I LOVE your videos----(though I knit more than I crochet)-----they make so very easy to follow ---(and I am MUCH larger than you--so learning how to alter a pattern is necessary)..... thank you :D

UGH, I feel your pain...I had to pull out 5 rows; not because I didn't put in my increases...I was watching TV, really getting into a good rhythm with my hook, and just kept on crocheting like I was making a sweater for an elephant, LOL...

Hello Dianne, are you doing it different to the video ? I am not too sure what you are talking about, are you using the main colour and a contrast colour ? Or are you trying to add a third colour ?

I tried to make the bust bigger but when I got to the size I wanted it wasn't lining up to the corners to start the tummy part...

To answer your question on how it would be called where one lives... Over here it would be a "Trui" cause I live in the Netherlands. So here we know it as trui... but we also use the word sweater although not when it is knitted or crocheted...

I love your video. I just have one question how many rows did you do for the body? From the armholes down.
@CrochetwithClare8 жыл бұрын
Hello Sarah, I have given this item away to charity, but looking at the video at around 22:17 mark , I did 24 rows of the DC before I did the edging

I prefer to use a half double crochet stitch or something more solid looking. Can this pattern be done with those stitches as well? I'm assuming so but it's a question of doing something comparable at the junctures etc...
@CrochetwithClare8 жыл бұрын
+Annika Groebner Hello, yes I think you could do it with the HDC stitch, just make sure your tension is not too tight so it isnt really stiff

Hello Claire I'm a size 18-20 my arms are not large just mid section. When join the arms I'm confused do I just chain the number I feel comfortable with or follow what you did in the video..... please help Claire I'm confused
@CrochetwithClare8 жыл бұрын
+Tonya Walker hi, you would still make your chain to go along with your beginning measurements of your neck and the measurements for your armholes. this amount will differ depending on the size yarn you are using. you will still follow the same directions until you get to the armholes where you begin to work in the round and join the arms. you can then always increase in the middle of the sweater to make it larger.

How do I decrease at the elbow part? Need a video
@CrochetwithClare6 жыл бұрын
Hello, to decrease you can do a double crochet decrease stitch, the more you do the more it will decrease, I usually do them on the beginning of the round

How can I change colors if it 2 strands of colors
@CrochetwithClare4 жыл бұрын
if you are crocheting with 2 strands doubled together you just drop whatever colour you want to change and then continue with the color you want to add. you do this by just looping the yarn around the hook and then just pulling it through your stitch like normal. then just continue as normal
