While separating the bible into verses was good for helping people to keep up with sermons and locate scriptures faster it hurts a lot of people when they do not read the entire chapter and want to take single verse out of context. One verse can easily be twisted if you do not read the entire chapter. Matthew 7:1 is often used to tell people not to Judge but the surrounding context clearly tell you not to be a hypocrite when judging

A woman was caught in the act of adultery and brought before Jesus. Instead of condemning her He told her to go her way and "sin no more". Even though the crowd wanted a stoning for her crime, none were found to be righteous enough to pass judgement. "I have not come to condemn the world, but to save it". Jesus will come one day to pour out His wrath on the wicked, but now we are under grace. God forgives every sin that you repent of and turn away from (blaspheming the Holy Spirit being the exception).

God is not pleased with any sin. Adultery is sin. However, it is a forgivable sin just like the rest. Who the Son sets free is free indeed, so don’t understand why people insist in holding others under condemnation and guilt. That sin is forgiven for believers. The wife or husband you have right now is the one for you right now. 1 Corinthians 7:17-24 says to live as you are called (whatever state you’re in when God called you). We will never, ever, ever be made perfect in God’s law - this why Jesus sacrificed Himself to fulfill the law (which was a schoolmaster to show how sinful we all are) and reconcile us to the Father.

I didn't watch the video, but EVERY sin is forgiven, (if you are a child of God) except the unpardonable sin which is the blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. As far as adultery is concern, you must repent, and turn away from it, just like any other sin. A person cannot continually live in habitual sin and expect to enter the kingdom of God. Do you believe that every person who has remarried should get divorced?
@shalalala8686 ай бұрын
The Bible makes allowance for remarriage in cases of abandonment and if your spouse commits adultery on you. You are "free from the bonds" after that. A lot of translations mistranslate "putting away" (found in KJV) with "divorce" when the two are not synonymous. Deut 24:1 details the Jewish divorce process (remember, Jesus was a Jew so many of his frames of reference came from that culture/POV), and "putting away" denies the due process required in Deut 24:1. They'd send a woman away without giving her a "get" which is tantamount to today's divorce decree b/c he didn't want to pay her and her family money in the divorce settlement. This is why Malachi describe "putting away" as treacherous b/c it denies the woman a legal right to remarry, should the cause of divorce be a Biblical reason. So yes, if you are not officially divorced b/c you were "put away" or simply kicked out of your marital home, OF COURSE you're in adultery and cause the wife to be in adultery if she remarries b/c she was never divorced to begin with. You've also left her financially destitute. Marrying while merely "put away" is like remarrying while only separated. You are still married! I wish ppl researched the cultural context to have an accurate understanding of scripture. Just research Jewish divorce process and "putting away".
@archielang74275 ай бұрын
@@shalalala868 Jesus said in Matthew 5, you've heard it said that you can divorce and give a wife a certificate of divorce, but he changed what Moses permitted in Deuteronomy, by saying saying that He believes a person who marries a divorced woman commits adultery with her and that a man who divorces a woman except for fornication causes her to commit adultery. He is quite clear on remarriage. We dont know what Paul meant by "no longer bound" but we know what Jesus said.
