My father-in-law is a filmmaker. It’s hard to get his attention because he gets lost in storytelling. Every year around, Halloween I watch Too Many Cooks. I asked him how much it would cost to make it today. I’ll never forget his answer. “We can’t, we don’t know how to do it.”

Actually that'd be pretty brilliant, they did something similar where they made multiple versions of the same video "New Marijuana Study Confirms Everyone Knows You're High And You Will Be Stoned Forever". The effect is lost to time but on the website it used to be that a different version of this report would play when you would reload the page. You can find a compilation on YT but beware there's one version where the interviewee randomly starts screaming and it scared the fuck out of me LOL

Matthew Kody Foster truly does an outstanding performance as Coat. His subtle, but brilliant acting seems to go wildly unappreciated. My friend showed me an episode of Too Many Cooks and I didn't even realise it was Foster as Coat. His acting is so believable and I think he deserves an award.

Actually, word on the street is that he's going to be a nominee for "Most Convincing Role in T.V. or Film" at the next award show. Mr. Foster has always been a gifted actor. He played the role of Johnny Depp's bandanna in the first Pirates of the Caribbean movie. A truly inspiring performance.

Back in 2014 I had just started my first job and had to be up every morning at 5 for work. I usually watched Malcom in the Middle, but for some reason one morning the commercial break was exceptionally long. I thought maybe some new show was airing, so i figured I’d stick it out until I had to get ready for work. The next 11 minutes of my life were transcendent. That was the first time I ever saw Too Many Cooks, and to this day I still chase the thrill of experiencing Too Many Cooks for the first time. This is pure art.

It's just that I don't think the average person will want to watch something this long. It takes a kind of 'I want to see what happens' instead of 'a mate is making me watch 10 minutes of boring but slightly disturbing stuff' and they will either not finish watching it and say it's weird and bad or skip through it, spoil it and go wtf, cringe or something similar. @@Nepafarius he symbolizes the Network Executives that make suggestions that often ruin a show. When this starts out, it's obvious that it is a family sitcom. As the "killer" starts making their presence known, the show's dynamic changes from a sitcom, to an office sitcom, to 80s crime drama, to animation, etc. Eventually, all of the genres are mixed together into total chaos, and Snarf is the only thing left from the original show, whom hits the button to cancel it all together. Part of the fun of watching this over and over...and over is spotting the little details. Obviously the presence of the killer where you might not have noticed him before, but also things like when the nerdy guy does his superhero spin, the “costume” on his now-decapitated body is just his regular clothes but with a cape. Or that the grandmother characters both read a magazine called Magazine, which has on its cover a stack of Magazine magazines; and in the final scene when the whole cast is present, they’re together, both looking at the magazine. 😄

Fuck this show. Falcon von Hood didn’t even get credited. All his lines were removed from the final edit so they didn’t have to credit him. They shamelessly looped his only non speaking bit just to add insult to injury after Hood had a major creative dispute with the director over his lines and the development of his character. There was even rumors that they were going to kill his character on screen using a stand in but SAG reps stepped in on Hoods behalf to settle the matter resulting in a “less messy” end to Mr. Peregrine. By splicing in aerial views with his characters screen time it would signify that he left willingly by “flying away”. It’s all total garbage. They should be ashamed of themselves #FalconvonHood

A whole 10 minutes of non stop insanity that took you somewhere, has continuity, has TONS of easter eggs, has an animated section. All the different animation and artwork that went into all the different logos and intros. This is just purely fucking insane. Hah, I saw this a week or so ago and my best friend and I were confused beyond belief but oh so entertained. We were under the guise it was a Tim and Eric short thanks to the unconventional humor and genre-jumping. But the only difference was that it was actually funny.

Just wait until Netflix reboots this... they better have Matthew Kody Foster as Coat, his performance gets to me every single time.

Matthew Kody Foster does a great job voicing Coat, but the dialogue was very poorly written. Shame, cause I liked Coat.
