Dont forget sentries can open doors and I dont think the leader gives +1 to surprise only the elf does that

I've never watched a playthrough of Advanced Hero Quest before! Looking forward to following this. I'd say they should take the door closest to you at the end, the one that would follow along beside the corridor they previously explored.

Great to see this amazing game get done screen time. Pretty sure you can’t roll up 4 champs and a warlord on the wandering monster table though? On the quest room matrix perhaps.

Also, critical hits with ranged attacks halves the toughness of the target, rather than give an additional attack like melee. I might still play this game quite a bit 😅

@@TheCub78 thanks mate and yes you are right about middle crits and o clean forgot about that. The wondering monster matrix I used on the beginning was from the Shattered Amulet which was crazy hard so I switched to Terror in the Dark charts to make it easier on the party

Yeah, I still think you were rolling on the wrong chart. Im looking at the Shattered Amulet matrix right now, and 11 is “ 3 warriors and a sentry”. I think you rolled on the Guest room matrix, which lines up with what the poor adventurers faced right at the start of the Adventure. Easily done, I did it to my kids once 😂😂😂. Didn’t go well and took me aaaaages to convince them to play again 😂 Advanced Heroquest is probably my favourite GW game. Brutal, but fun 😎

Nice, the game does seem to have nightmare difficulty and the combats are a bit painfully drawn out. Maybe some more house rules like heroes can reroll misses and maybe give the men at arms actual halberds. Good luck!

Great video. Do you only move your characters Speed in the combat phase? I thought that you can always move 12 squares.

Thank you for watching. I’m the exploration phase you can move up to 12 squares. When you are in combat only your speed. It’s a great mechanic

I can’t remember which part the sentry was in but he can open doors. Next expedition will be filmed over the weekend as soon as I recover from a cold. Thanks for watching and commenting
