I have been singing for a while now by myself, and basically teaching myself through youtube and I have made massive improvements since I started 2 years ago and only last year I finally figured out what mix is and how critical it is for singing sustainably in your upper range. And now I discovered this straw singing technique which I always saw on youtube but I simply thought it was just another one of tons of exercises that probably wouldn't help much but BOY WAS I WRONG,only last night did I stumble across the science of straw singing and it is like discovering the Holy Grail for singing. On top of that Your AMAZING CHANNEL with literally free high quality exercises to do every day is truly remarkable and I greatly appreciate it. Thank you for doing what you do, you have no idea the impact your work has on many aspiring singers our there.

Perfect warm up this morning, thank you! Would love more ear work outs - the major minor scale is fab and has inspired me to incorporate more interval training and mode work into my own work outs.

I found hour channel at the beginning of quarantine I couldn’t keep up with the runs in this video back then but now I can easily handle it back then I didn’t have a vocal coach (my previous vocal coach wasn’t very good so I decided to continue on my own) now I do I even suggested your channel to my coach because he was looking for a good channel for his students Huge thanks from Iran your channel helped me to have a somewhat strong mix voice

Can you do a video on how you can use the straw to work on breath support, and how to control your breath more?? Im having the most trouble with air support in my vocal journey and I just bought the singing straws :) I really hope I see some improvement with the help of the straws. I just started my vocal journey about two months ago and I feel like Im having to break old habits and restart all over again because when I was able to sound "good" I was singing the bad technique and now that Im learning proper technique I find it harder to find the right pitch and tone. Is that normal?
@SingingStraw4 жыл бұрын
For sure!
@eminezola03 жыл бұрын
It is normal don't worry! It took my 7 months to find the right tone and pitch😅😆

I'm missing a note or two on the Downward Pentatonic. I can hear a difference, just can't specifically identify it. Is there sheet music for that run?
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
Not at the moment, but if you are in the key of Cminor, the pattern is: C Bb G Bb G F Eb F Eb C Bb C :)

What scale is the first exercise? I’m trying to work this out so I can play it on my piano while practicing?

Rossini scale

I notice I use my singing straw differently than you...I sing with cheeks in (like a trumpet player) rather than with puffed out cheeks. Is this ok??
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
Yes, totally okay! Puffing your cheeks out is just a personal preference. Do what feels best for you :)
@jerrymcdougle44612 жыл бұрын
You do not have to put air in your cheeks right?
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
Nope! That is a personal preference :)

@@SingingStraw will all these exercises make one’s voice stronger/better over time where we no longer have to do them but only vocal warm ups?
@saraerdle2 жыл бұрын
If you would play it just a tad slower and also play when it's our turn it would be helpful
@SingingStraw2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sara! I think you're able to slow it down on your end through settings. Thank you for this feedback, though! I will definitely make a note :)
