Hi, so after liver transplant every patient has to take pills for rest of their life? Hepititis B is RNA virus after liver transplant will that virus attack the new liver too since our whole body has that virus?

Most patients need immunosuppressants for the rest of their life, with larger doses just after transplant and lesser maintenance doses later on. Not sure about recurrence rates for Hepatitis, but since it is a virus I'm guessing it is possible to have a recurrence.

It's not a good option to do a transplant if someone is infected. To be so frank no hospital will do it unless it's too serious. Because the success rate can be unpredictable. U cannot increase high immunity power to fight against infections after transplantation too, because one's body will consider even the new organ as a foreign particle and kill even that liver. So yes, I hope it helped

That is inaccurate actually, 1-3 months for donor and up to a year for the recipient to reach 100%. I know from experience. That's WebMD for ya
