Can I invest directly or must I go through an agent for FGN Bonds?

Interesting video as always. The main disadvantage of FGN Bond is obvious. They are paying me around 12 - 13% but inflation in Nigeria is around 31% ! This translates to poor investment, unless of course I am motivated to support the mother land and invest based on sentiment. Comparing it to western government bonds is not comparing "apples for apples". Their inflation rate spiked recently, but it is gradually getting back to their historical mean. What the Nigerian government can do, is create an FGN Bond with a coupon rate tied to the inflation rate ( floating rate bond). ... We can dream I suppose. Ha.

You're right but their are other investments options in Nigeria aswell which can surpass inflation but instead of not investing at all due to inflation is the worst, will rather put my cash on FGN Bond to earn that 16% to 18% or Tbills at 21% than leave it in bank while inflation spend it for me. I personally, bought some stocks this year which I have made profits on . First, I made profit by sending my cash at a higher rate before the dollar crashed against the naira . Secondly, I did not just keep those cash in the bank but bought some Nigerian stocks with them on a monthly basis I. e cost averaging and I can tell you categorically that I am currently making profit because I buy high atimes and likewise low instead of timing the Market. One just need to understand the Nigerian Market and the specific investment you want to hold. Beleive me or not, Nigeria is still one of the best countries one can make much money on investment but one need to consider the risk factor aswell. Like I stated earlier, not investing at all due to flimsy excuses of inflation or recession is the worst because for someone like me, I see all these factors as an opportunity to make more money when you position yourself well.
