Great news! Pabu's flight skills in the house did not seem to be too affected despite only having one tail feather so I decided to take him out to a familiar and very easy/safe location to check out his skills.
The good news is he is surprisingly not bad at all, not 100% the best but good enough to be out in a select couple of suitable locations, he will always be with other birds as well aka Kevin!!
-
Pabu and Kevin had a absolute blast today, bunny hopping in the trees and pretty much having the best time acting like monkeys on red bull & crack... definitely living up to the bubblegum monster title.
Pabu is also turning out to be a lot like Korra... he gets very very jealous of me interacting with any other birds and will jump on me or them to split us up, the moment he met Berrie I had a feeling his jealous would be an issue and I was right he tried to bite berrie bottom! So poor berrie had to wait and play in the mango tree until Pabu had finished and it was safe for him to come down. 😂
_
This was Berrie's first time outdoors with other birds, they may be a little too large for him so I will try organise play dates for him with the smaller bird crew.
-
Mizu & Miko are the green cheek conures who live with Kevin (galah) and Bumi (yellow tailed black cockatoo) :)
*as explained 12497357285123984p523[94234 times Bumi is harness trained not free flight trained, harnesses are Not a stepping stone to free flight and can be very detrimental however Bumi is currently doing specific training to undo this and hopefully free fly one day if his brain development allows :)**. (im confident he will)
-
Kevin was happy to have his best buddy back but I cant help but feel he was a little taken aback due to Pabu's missing tail, I also felt as though Pabu was not quite his bubblegum self. This is to be expected though, he is starting to get new tail feathers coming though so hopefully soon he will be back to normal! :D
_
Roku & Korra are im certain past the half way mark on their molt and hormones, the majority of their big tail and flight feathers have dropped and now its a matter of waiting until they finish coming through :)
_
Then its finally the time of year again where they are outdoors daily for the fun and adventure!
Also, for anyone who watched the prior uploads Berrie literally inhales his pine nut treats... no chewing, at the end of the video he had like x10 pine nuts, as a result he does this weird dance to adjust his crop I think. So thats the reason, not because he is dying or choking lol

Thanks for the update and its do good seeing Pabu. Berrie has been a joy to watch. Is it morbid to ask for a close up on Pabu's tail? I'm really curious. Love to all the birbs.

Yeah so my budgies would be GONE FOREVER if I took them outside lol. It amazes me that people can train a parrot so well that it'll come back to you, even outside. I'd be terrified. My birds are really tame and love to hang out with me and on me, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't get them to come back from a tree. Maybe, but I wouldn't risk it.

Pabu is a major Mitchells cockatoo, he is very cheeky. If you search "pabu the major Mitchells cockatoo" in youtube it should come up with all his videos.

how can you make them so bonded that they dont fly away and never come back? I can call my birds at house but I cant trust them to come out side the house... If they flew away out house they probably wont survive and I cant stand how they wanna break free from their cages under the sun and nature

Yes if your birds went outside they would most likely be lost so I do not recommend doing it. It takes very specific training and brain development on the birds behalf, this is why free flight trained birds and drastically different to pet indoor parrots like your own. for more details about it you can read through the articles here www.adventuresofroku.com/Educational.php

Pabu is bullying berry, that's not healthy, you gotta stop that circle!!!
@AdventuresofRoku
@AdventuresofRoku 6 жыл бұрын
dude with all do respect it's not a circle its a first time meet and a natural behaviour for a companion cockatoo to get a little jelly. at what point did I indicate im not managing any of my birds or their behaviour? you cannot do what I do by letting them run wild, it wasn't a random act to just let them out one day and hope for the best lol
