Cool to see some fellow Ohioans with scooter fever. I just picked up an 03 Silverwing 600 and I’m loving the comfort and smoothness, cruising at 70 MPH down here on the Northwest Florida highways. Wish I was back home in Dublin with it. Soon!

One of the finest scooters ever produced ... one hell of a "cadillac scooter". Very comfy and if you always take care of the interval for the oil change (relatively short 3000Km/2000Mi due to the small amount of engine oil - 800ccm) it will run forever.

Ich hatte genau den selben , Bj.85 ,250ccm .2010 verkauft mit 140000 km auf Tacho mit TÜH und Fahrbereit für 400 Euro .Alles selbst gewartet . Nie in Werkstatt . In all den Jahren nur einen Ausfall wegen Oxydation in einem Stecker . Das Beste und Solideste was ich je gefahren habe .

I'm riding one of them too. A good friend of mine is always saying "Scooters are ugly, but your's is exceptional ugly!" And another friend (and ardent motocyclist) is defending my scooter against the scorn of other bikers: "I've never been on a more comfortable ride than this one!". BTW the Helix is my everyday short distance (or commuting) vessel. I also ride "real bikes" (Yamaha XJ900 and XT500).

The only people who do not like scooters are the ones who have not discovered them yet. My favorite thing is rolling up to a light on my scooter with my girl on the back. Then Harley rider roll up roll up smirking and looking down at me for riding a scooter. Then the facial expression changes when they see out of the entire group at the light,I am the only one with a girl on the back...There bike was way more expensive to purchase, way more expensive to maintain, and takes way longer to shine. While they are working to pay for it, working to maintain it,woring on cleaning it. My girlfriend and I are out enjoying ours. I call this scooter envy.

As a person i was never really much into motorcycles even though i admired some vintage ones, and enduros. I think my moped/scooter facination started when i was a kid with my neighbor, and his Moto Guzzi Robin mopeds. He had one green, and one orange one which seemed to cruise well down the street. I thought it was so cool that you only needed a drivers licence to ride one. As for me i used to ride a 2003 Honda Elite 80 for 15 years until it was stolen out of my yard last fall. Bought it for 1500 dollars with 500 miles, and it had over 11K on it when it was stolen. Throughout the years it has been very fun, and from time to time ive gotten lots of compliments. Around where i live if scooter riders encountered each other on the road they would give each other a wave. As for another scooter i am possibly looking into a used Honda Helix, or Reflex since they seem to be tall friendly. I sat on Yamaha Majesties, and the legroom is so cramped. I outgrew the Elite ages ago, and i always wanted something bigger to take on more higher speed roads. I just kept riding it because i was too cheap to buy another, and plus with the miles it had i thought of just riding it until it quit lol

I have an 03 Reflex, almost the same bike as the Helix, and I love mine. Super smooth running, plenty of power, comfortable, what more can you ask ? I´ve owned dozens of various makes, models and sizes of motorcycles over the years, and my Reflex is one of my favorites I have to admit … and being a Honda, built to last forever.

I had to update my comment. Since my last comment, i have sold my Reflex and replaced it with a Helix, black in color, just like the one in this video. I admit, the Helix is much more comfortable than the Reflex.

A guy gave me a 1986 Helix. I restored it and put 20000 miles on it. The other bikes didn’t get the same miles as the Helix is regret selling it and I’m looking for another one. They’re awesome!!

Attention Deficit it’s probably your intake (carb) boot. This is an anti vibration boot that is a problem that can cause a vacuum leak causing the backfire. Go to helixparts USA and get a new one they’re cheap

I just got my first helix the past weekend it’s a 86 with 23k miles only paid $850 I absolutely love this thing man lol I own nothing but Harley’s and I fell IN LOVE with the helix , I ride mine about 200 miles on the highway everyday to get to work and back home , great little scooter and awesome on gas, cheap to maintain, and parts are Dumb cheap , most expensive part on the bike is the exhaust lol

At two bars on the temp gauge your cooling fan should NOT be on. Have fun with it, I always have one on hand. 👍 Also, the right side of the trunk gets warmer than the left because of the muffler, in case that matters to your camera.

I bought one in Okinawa in 1987 to ride to work on. I, too, think it goes faster than it should. The smaller wheels don’t develop the stability at speed that the larger wheels do. I was all over the lane in a strong cross wind while a motorcyclist i was behind was tracking straight. We loved it, though. It took us all over the island and it was great ride for work.
