The hot water bottle ❤ the mainstay of British households
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
It would seem so! For whatever reason, the electric blanket seems to be the more popular option here in the states.

Congratulations! Looks like you have everything figured out and planned very well. One suggestion which you will have learned already is when it’s raining or snowing put the awning down lower, one side lower than the other, so that the water can run off instead of collecting or even worse running back onto the tent wall. I can also speak very highly of porta potties, and if you’re in a less private place, some sort of enclosure. Of course if you add that you’d have to put some sort of roof rack on your car not to carry that but to make room for it. I love that Ace Hardware in Panguitch. I spend summer time up near Bryce Canyon and they have come to my aid on many occasions. Glad they have been serving you well. I enjoy your videos and look forward to more.
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
Hello and thank you! We did end up doing just that with the awning! Otherwise it got to weighted down. I enjoyed the Ace too, as well as Panguitch, such a cute little town and a beautiful area. What’s your connection to Bryce? That sounds like a lovely area to summer. As for the porta potty situation, so far in our lives, we’ve been perfectly content to wander off into the woods and dig a hole. Perhaps if we were camping out full time we’d reconsidered our options, but for now this works. :)

@@adventuredenali Hello back, and you are welcome! I live about four hours away from Bryce. It gets hot here in the summer, though nothing like Tucson. Yes, a lovely place to summer. I love and use the cycle path. A few years ago I drove with my daughter in her Penske truck to Tucson to begin her medical residency. I had thought my city was a desert till I saw Tucson! That is real desert! Loved the desert-scaped yards with sizable barrel cacti and companions. I guess my city really is more steppe. I enjoy your many enthusiasms you convey on your channel. Aren’t fountain pens and typewriters great? And you almost persuade me to take up knitting! I think it would be wonderful to make and wear my own socks, especially during a cool Bryce night or a winter evening in my city. Continue! Aye, Chris

Another cliffhanger! At this point I’m happy with that. I want the story to go on. I’m wandering why we haven’t seen the Halibut Sweater in this cold weather trip but I guess you can’t pack everything. Loving the camping Vlog, can’t wait for the next episode. Thank you.
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
Aww I’m so glad! There’s one more video coming out, I hope you enjoy it too! The halibut sweater didn’t make the cut I’m afraid. Partly because I find the fleece so much more comfortable, but more importantly, I feel very protective of my hand knit sweater and worried about it snagging on things.

Journals, Fountain Pens, and camping. You are my kinda gal! (except I have cats instead of dogs). I have never camped in snow, but I will say you have a great tent for it. I have a flexbow Kodiak tent which is identical to the Springbar. I considered both when I bought my tent and went with the Kodiak because I liked some of the features I was able to get for the money over the Springbar. That said, both are Awesome tents. I've been through some windy, snarly storms with mine. I stayed dry as a bone and my tent stood well in the strongest of winds. You shouldn't have a problem with the snow storm....well, except work ~ that spoils everything!
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
I’m impressed at the weather these tents can endure! I’ve seen both the Springbar and Kodiak in action and have been really impressed. Thanks for watching and happy camping and writing to you!

Oh, how I remember that frustration of weather and camping and having to be back at work too soon! Now I’m retired, live in Show Low and never enjoy the snow as much as I should. Interested to see how your trip panned out!

Snow in a hot tent has to be one of the most awesome experiences, that contrast between bitter cold and toasty indoors is awesome. The worse part is breaking down camp in the cold. Panguitch is right down the road from my fav KZbinrs in Glendale (Fab Rats), sorry you’re my fav also 😎
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
It really is an amazing experience. I enjoyed myself immensely and look forward to more trips like that. Breaking down camp in the cold was… well, cold! But we had a good break in the weather and left just as the snow started coming down heavily.

All smart purchases you made at the hardware store. I'll have to get one of those aluminum pans for my wood burning stove. Is that a Faribault Mill wool blanket you have on the bed? And you should tell everyone how nice those Kermit camp chairs are, and they are made here in Tennessee.
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
The Kermit chairs are amazing. We love them so much! I don’t know which mill the blanket came from, such an iconic design though.

Aaaw man, you definitely deserve more snow/days after all the preparing! I absolutely love snow, but not getting stuck (and missing work) is the smart thing to do, I suppose.. That wood is absolutely beautiful, they would make lovely bookends. Hope you guys got to enjoy a bit more snow before you had to pack up 🤞

Thank you so much! There’s one more video coming out, and I think as far as our camping experience goes, we found a happy balance. And yes, they would have made beautiful book ends!

Panquitch! We were on a cross country RV trip back in 2018 and we stopped in Panquitch to find a pharmacy and eat a meal. We went to the thrift store there too and I got some really cool items very cheap! Can’t wait to see the next video in this series. It snowed when we were there too…was in April!
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
Oh that must have been a fun trip! If we had more time, I too would have enjoyed going to the thrift store!

Cliffhanger!!! Hot water bottles are very much underrated in the U.S. ... I am a huge fan! Your tent is awesome. I hope-hope-hope- you can stay vs leaving early.
@adventuredenali7 ай бұрын
I was thinking that as well, in regard to the hot water bottle! I think the electric blanket seems to be the more popular option here. I’ve got one more video coming out for this trip, and I think we found a perfect balance! We left early, but spent three more days on the road exploring Utah. In the end, it all worked out well and we got to have a good snow time too.

Foot warmers: we live up in Maine and have a soapstone slab that you can heat up, wrap in a towel and put down our feet. Stays warm for over 8 hours!
