Yes this is all hitting home so hard. Espcially the idea that you just need to start creating rather then trying to learn how to make the perfect video, fell way too much into that trap last year. Trying to hit that like 80% completion rate with my videos so I don't fall into the perfectiuonist and overthinking spiral!

It’s so great so see Mylene in this so not heavily edited way 😂 This really will inspire so many of us to just experiment and don’t forget to have fun ☺️ Hope I can quickly upload more and don’t treat filming as a heavy lifting thing 💪🏻

It’s also so fun to hear that there’s actually no strategy 😂

Thank you for saying that (the museum of your content)! I’ve always felt that way, and I’ve tried to do that with my online presence. Before I got locked out of my IG, I had every post from the time I started my profile (2012) until last year, and I loved going back through all my trends and memories, and I wish a lot more people did that.

I appreciate #2 / the photography class examples. I was taking so long to put out videos in 2024 so I started this year with a 30 day challenge, making 1 every day. I'm finding the experience to be very aligned to what you're saying, as it's cutting through perfectionism.

I've worked with so many KZbinrs some 10m + subscribers, the most successful ones that have longevity always seem to create the content around themselves doing something, rather than just the spectacle of doing something (if that makes sense). 100% agree with so much of this and have seen a lot of what you say remain true for other creators in my experience. And for me I've also found reverse engineering cool edits/ graphics/ etc. is the best way to learn how to do something, you end up learning concepts rather than just information. Love listening to these haha

totally makes sense! this is why I’ve always loved to see the journeys of designers or artists because they’re creating videos around something else that they’re doing vs creating just content itself. glad this video resonated with you and thanks so much for listening/watching 🙏

Whew, such a great video even though I've heard these things before it was refreshing to Hera it from you so thanks for sharing! As a beginner at creating videos, art, etc I've definitely been stuck watching SO many tutorials so I can make the best videos lol. This inspired me to go ahead and post the videos and art I've been holding onto due to perfectionism. Thanks Mylene 🦋

I appreciate this video. It is simple but it's what I think a lot of people need to hear. Especially the coding part lol that was me too just stuck in tutorial hell.

Love the toolbox analogy. Haven’t heard this perspective in my circle in a while. Build a skillset one tool at time, soon you have a whole toolbox, and know how to use it well.

I couldn’t agree more. At times, you envision something for your vlog and oftentimes, you end up not meeting the expectations you’ve set for it. I’ve learned that along the way, you just have to keep taking videos and wing it- eventually, it’ll fall into place once you start editing it. ❤

Loved the part where you said ~"solving problems kind of feels like you being a detective solving crimes", its so good to see things from different perspective and to try out new things!!. Enjoyed the video looking forward for more such content 😄

awesome video less edited and yappinng vids are great.😊 experimenting and... tutorial trap is real for anyone thinking to watch a tutorial after this on color grading, or lighting.😁

Hey Mylene! Your vlog about content creation was super inspiring! As a video editor, I totally resonate with your "volume over perfection" approach. Would love to collaborate and help bring your creative vision to life. Keep experimenting and creating! 🎥✨

Es tan cierto lo que dices y me resulta tan familiar porque es algo que aplico en mi vida pero nose porque al momento de crear contenido he hecho todo lo opuesto, gracias por compartir esto ❤
