I was looking for solution for same issue. I was suggested to clean washing machine filter so I did. Restarted washing machine by unplugging for 3 minutes and issue disappeared and working like new again. So I suggest to start with this simple trick. If it was something else I will update this post.

Check the plugs between the display and the main pcb. Interesting how it goes black before it seems to restart? Wonder if there is a diagnostic mode where you can test the individual components like a Miele?

Here's what I've found on the AEG website on the Internet on this error code: 1. If the washer dryer displays error codes such as E91 (like in this video) or E90, E92, E93, or E94, it indicates configuration / communication problems with the electronic parts. Basically, unplug the machine from the socket for 30 seconds and then plug it in again. They also mention calling an "Authorized Service Center" and I honestly don't think it's worth doing that. Hope that this might help.

E91 is a communication error, check the PCB and wiring maybe. Oh and if the machine says ‘Err.’ it means you can’t select that option :)

It means there is a communication error some where in the machine. Try checking the connections and pcb

Yes I did, as I kinda wanted something a bit different as the name I had before originally was going to be until I started to make washer videos but started to make them early and never got round to changing it

E91 means that the contact between the display and the electronics is not proper.So the electronics are broken.

To be honest, in AEG if the display works, I think it’s fixable. A good electrician could solve it but be sure he is experienced. If the display does not start at all, it’s 90% the pcb processor. As a business which sells home appliances, these models are not good (in my opinion). I would go for the older ones. :)

Have a look at my other videos on this model. one of the many circuit boards was damaged. too expensive to repair, hardly worth fixing.
