You are "hands down" the best teacher on here. Thank you so much! How tall are you? Our ceilings seem about the same, I'm in a doorway right now, or have to wait for a day that's cool enough to go to the park, and hang from a tree ♥
@aerialpractice3 жыл бұрын
Wow I have never hung from a tree and never will dare to try. It's tempting but difficult to know whether it is safe. I am 5'7, always wish I could be taller until I start doing aerial dance and thinking if I was shorter I could do more in my little home.

Just got my silks today and found out I have 0 upper body strength. is there any variations I can do to get into certain tricks. Until I can get my strength up.
@aerialpractice4 жыл бұрын
I believe you can with each of the trick. For example, trick1 i would keep thinking of the movement, try as slow as I can, and only lift the last leg off the ground in the very last moment. I would relay more on the hammock and the ground for support, while doing more floor and aerial drills to build up the strength. I also noticed how weak I was after I started doing aerial. If you keep going, it will come very quickly =)!
@aerialpractice4 жыл бұрын
Here are the ground routine, I would always do them first before practicing in the air, to reduce the risk of injuries. hope it helps =) kzbin.info/www/bejne/l4nVYmuujtVnb7s

What size beams are holding it I was going to use two 2X4 in my home gym the garage but idk if it will support my weight 122lbs
@aerialpractice2 жыл бұрын
if you dont know it's best to not try until you have someone who can check for you. I don't have a beam in my place, since I am familiar with concrete we only searched for houses that are like that.

Is it possible that my hammock is hanging too wide from the ceiling ( a little wider than shoulder width) would this affect the ability to do some poses?

It's possible, but I think it is also possible to adjust the movement to make it. Which ones are giving you a hard time?

I would like to purchase a hammock with the equipment needed to install in ceiling. I'm a beginner. Can you recommend a good quality hammock company to purchase from and how much should I expect to pay? I've read reviews on Amazon and Ebay. Not sure what I should look for in a hammock and equipment. Some don't come with the ceiling mounts. Thank you
@aerialpractice4 жыл бұрын
Hello Jazzy! When it comes to rigging, it's recommend to have professionals to guide you through purchasing and installations. I have purchased from various vendors in different countries, find it hard to judge the quality until I see it in person. It works very differently for everyone because you will have to buy what you need based on what you need and what your set requires you to have. I have written about my experience here: aerialpractice.com/buyaerialhammock/ Hope this helps!

Hey it's ok. How we handle our set back is what make the ones keep going special. After this many years trying I am still struggling doing a really good pull up but if I focused on that you wouldn't be looking at these videos! What help me is to try to understand what am I missing (in my case now it's practice) and to work on it. If I get it right away I would have appreciated it a lot less. Hope this helps!

Is there a trick to make it hurt less?😅
@aerialpractice2 жыл бұрын
Yes! Strong legs! Engage (tense up) your legs as you move. If simply engaging doesn't work yet (!), start with horse stand, squat, and/or kicks to build up your strength and flexibility. You can also check out the leg workout i shared! There are always a few in each workout challenge.
