Dunolly is a closed railway station on the Mildura line in the town of Dunolly, Victoria, Australia. It is located 177km (109mi) north west from the state capital Melbourne.
The station was one of 35 closed to passenger traffic on 4 October 1981 as part of the New Deal timetable for country passengers. Today it is the junction for the lines towards Inglewood, Kulwin, and Robinvale. It also contains grain silos around its property environment.

Grew up just up the hill on Hardy St and have watched the station deteriorate dramatically since we moved out in 2003. As kids we used to pry the cover off the well to jump across it and throw stones down it and climbed that tree many times.

I believe that is the standard guage line to Mildura. Grain & fruit trains use the line.

the large shed is a goods shed , the train would pull inside and unload any goods needed .

Well, that was a nostalgic journey I must say. I don't come from there but the old buildings and what infrastructure is still there gives you a sense of maybe there is still someone hiding in the main building, a watch dog so to speak. Bloody great job mate.

Let's just say I unfortunately do bump into people with issues (substance abuse or mental health) living or just escaping from society when they can in places like this that need help and I do try to point them in the right direction.

We live behind the Terminus hotel..The rail lines are used by the wheat trains about five times a week! And the odd steam train goes through!

Yep, those guys in the truck rail thing gave me the heads up and yes, locals get to see some long freight trains and the steam train on special occasions ... I guess if you're a train spotter, it would be a great location for some photos during the day and night with a wonderful background of rural life and trains !

that thing at 5:35 is likely to be a well. i saw one at a rich man's house in serpells road ivanhoe many years ago. and i saw the remains of one in a tip i worked in. i took a lot of the bricks from it and used them at my house. the bricklayers layed the bricks in a spiral pattern then dug out the dirt within the circle and the brick cylinder slid down into the hole. then they laid more bricks then dug out the hole and sunk the brick cylinder some more. this was repeated until it was deep enough. dunolly is an important freight rail town. its pronounced as dunn olly as in lolly.

@PaxAlotin , that is a potential alternative. it would be awkward building it compared to how they built a well but it could be as you say. i'll go back a watch the video again to see if it is near the toilets.

@PaxAlotin , both wells i knew of were bottle-shaped. if it was a bottle-shaped object sitting above ground it could have had another use like a brick or pottery kiln. difficult but within the skill range of good 19th century bricklayers. the broken bottle-shaped object i saw when working in a tip came from under the ground in st. kilda where they were building a high-rise office block in 1984. they got rid of it before any heritage people found out about it. st. kilda was within the water supply area of yan yean reservoir which was built in 1864. so i figure that dated the well for well before that date.

@PaxAlotin , as i mentioned, it wasnt the last brick structure in melbourne. i'm into heritage stuff and i wasnt worried about it.

It's a shame these old buildings aren't given over to a local community organisation who can restore, re-purpose & maintain them for the town's citizens to use.

Maybe the ''Men's Shed'' guys and Country Women's Auxiliary Association (or similar) could ask for a grant from the Shire or Victrack (whoever owns it) to do some basic repairs and maintence that's not for profit !

Maybe you might like to talk to the community of Newstead and see the incredible outcome restoring the station and now goods shed.
