Gorgeous boots. I've been eyeing these for over a year and was not having luck finding them used in my size. Fortunately, Truman opened up the coffers and the Coach Rambler was available for a few weeks for pre-order MTO. I jumped on it. Waiting patiently until they are ready (~April 2023). Killer boots - killer review! Been waiting for this review. And I TOTALLY resonate with the new boot smell thing- I LOVE the smell of new leather boots. Funny, that’s my wife’s favorite part about the boots too - lol

I love these reviews. They show the boots at different angles. Coach Ramblers look amazing as well. Adrew from Parkhurst! Can't say more good things about him. I have a pair of his boots. Really comfortable and very well built. Really cool guy too.

These are awesome boots. I recently conditioned my coach rambler with the truman boot wax, it darkened quite a bit. Could you please make a video conditioning your coach rambler. That will be great bro. Cheers!!

hey man!! yes the darkening will happen, I actually used some neutral wax on my moss waxy Mohawks recently and they too darkened up quite a bit but they needed it because they were dry lol! I want to show how they will look eventually after a lot of wear and when the excess wax comes off

I just bought a pair of Prairie Ramblers off the secondary market but the seller had no info on the last. I know they came out a few years ago but are no longer listed on the site. Any thoughts?

Ok, so I can't get a straight answer from Truman. Is the Rambler leather a FULL grain rough-out or a SPLIT grain suede? They and Stead call it a suede but I can't imaging they would make a 'rough' boot out of just suede.

Hey Brother, I have a bad back and need a softer sole, does the commander's sole have some "give" to it? My Redwing IR's have a hard sole that I have to run a thick in-sole so they don't break my old back. Thanks for any help!

I find the commando sole to be comfortable but i don't think they provide the most support! i think if that's what you're looking for, then a leather sole, a crepe sole, or a cork sole would be your best bet, in my experience!!

nice video, man! I think trumans are the best value boots out there ... the construction, leather, design you get per dollar is superior than what you get out of Vibergs imo. I'd go cordovans in Vibergs but beat-em-up boots definitely trumans. I am tryna figure out a way to get a pair of trumans to Canada without all the nasty duties and taxes lol.

Dale, I am still breaking in my Coach Rambler boots. I have noticed that although they have mostly been worn in house that the leather seems to be evolving to more darker spots. Is this because they need leather conditioning? How do I know when they need conditioning? Also, I'm confused by Truman's Leather Care notes which mentions the Coach Rambler to be cared for as I would suede. It looks like the exposed flesh side of the animal. Please elaborate on the care instructions. Thank you.

Rambler is some confusing leather to figure out! No I wouldn’t condition them until they start showing signs of being dry. Darkening is just patina !

Ok, so I have a pair of Coach Ramblers arriving this Friday, 5/26. QQ - I have a nice light colored leather baseball glove that somehow got a big watermark on the leather near the index finger. Love the glove. Hate the big water splotch. But it is just a glove. Did you bother treating your Ramblers, or any of your boots for that matter, with any water protectant? If so, what do you recommend? Truman is out of their stuff. (Side note: I use Saphir Medaille d'Or Renovator - All-Purpose Leather Shoe Cleaner & Conditioner, which is a mink oil based cream, to condition my dress shoes.)

I don't recommend treating rambler as treating it will darken it considerably and ruin the experience! I'd wait a while before doing so, but bick 4 is a good choice as it won't darken finished leather

@@DalesLeatherworks Thank you. Yeah, I'm just going to let it go for a bit. As a side... I'm disappointed in the fit of these boots. Were I a straight 7.5D, they would be fine, but, like most people, my left foot measures different from my right. I'm a Brannock 8D on the left and a 7.5 E on the right. The recommendation by Truman was to go with the their 7.5D. The boots are uncomfortably tight. Not painfully tight, so a EE would likely be too wide, especially on the left foot. I really needed an E for that right foot, but Truman doesn't offer their boot in that size. I'll be looking into the Nick's Americana for my next pair. Hopefully Nick's will provide something that fits. In the meantime, I'm just praying that the Trumans break in enough to feel comfortable and not just tolerable.

I just got a pair of Truman boots in natural Dublin. The quality and everything is top notch. My only concern is that the insole isn’t flat around the toes. It curves up at the edge and is kind of uncomfortable. Do yours have this too? Did it mould to a comfortable place over time.

hmmmm no that has never happened with any of my trumans! i had 1 pair of trumans where the insole wasn't glued down and shifted but i glued it down and the problem was fixed! i would say in your case that it would remedy itself over time though :-)

aerosurferlv it’s not the added insole. It’s the leather foot bed. I figure it will compress over time. I might add a little water to speed up the process.

no the copper and the coach are WAY different! similar color but the flesh character in rambler is way more complex!

They are stunning boots I just was on the site and had to set an alert because they don't have any more in stock,how is the comfort though? I have 2 pair of Nick's hand made boots,the Urban loggers and the Charlie and they are the most comfortable pieces of foot wear i ever owned,can literally wear them all day and they feel great so im just wondering how the comfort in the Truman boots holds up,especially once broken in. hey man, thank you!! yes definitely set the alert for coach, you won't regret it!! my Trumans are extremely comfortable, especially the 79 last with mid weight socks fits my foot the best, I can wear them all day/ hike in them and they're incredibly supportive

man that's a good question! I plan to do nothing for a few years at least. but when the time comes, I will probably use some neutral boot wax on them like Truman recommends :-D

You know.. it sucks that i have to pay 17% import duties on the total price incl shipping.. and 21% tax ON TOP of that for the boot.. €419,- ends up being roughly €707,- per pair! Fck man.. i better save up and buy 3 pairs at once for my whole life.. sucks to live in the Netherlands if you want good quality american clothing and boots. Edit: if my calculations are correct, if i buy 3 ill pay a total (roughly of €1850,-) which is about €616,- per pair. Lol anybody got any tips.. and is €616 worth it per pair? Ill have to get my measurement EXACTLY correct, or els it will be either sawing a toe off or adding padding to the heel lmao.

yes they are heavily waxed and the leather is shrunken creating a tighter grain structure making them even more water proof

Do Truman boots look good with jeans that aren't cuffed? I not a huge fan of the look of cuffed up jeans. It's a little girly-man in my opinion. I'm hoping that the rationale for all the pictures showing the boots with cuffed pants is because they're simply looking to showcase the boots.

They are killer boots, quite literally! Excruciating pain from a wrong size “built to order” piece of junk. I returned their coach rambling crap because it wasn’t healthy for my feet.
