You both bring us to beautiful gravesites, God bless these old souls and thank you for bringing their lives to current memory! As if they are still alive by reading their gravestones. These are so old there are no living relatives to honor them. Thank you for respecting them and their final resting places! Blessings to you both, keep up the great work!🙋🏼‍♀️🇺🇸

What blows me away is when Sue steps past a headstone and seeing how big they are compared to her petite size. They would do a lot of damage if they fell on anyone. I enjoy both your videos, I don't comment much, but do want to say be safe and keep going.

Well I thought I'd come back to this but you had me hooked I ended up watching it all what a magical place. It was like something of a film set. The sun shining through the trees all the ferns and moss. It seems to cover a large area. The Musgrove tomb was unusual with those headstones round the edge. The lead coffin at the front almost looked like it was bent/curved. Great video thanks for taking us along.

This was the find of a century! I love these overgrown cemeteries. There is one on Chincoteague Island, Virginia that I always loved visiting. There is also one in Idaho City, Idaho that unfortunately was almost entirely destroyed during a wildfire because most of the older grave markers were made of wood. Btw, you probably have been told this already, but in case you haven’t been, the ornament that resembles an urn on top of tombs is called a finial. My husband is an artist who frequently tops his urns with finials.

So I'm going to watch another hour of very interesting and important facts, of soul's lost or just forgotten 😢 we will never really know. I like to think that the oldest one's you read to us mortals out here, are left because there are no more serving members of that said family 😢I hope ❤. Much love as always from a damp Sunday here in Manchester, and off we go on another journey with you and Sue I hope I'm right with the name of course love from Tricia xx

I remember the pathway up to where my dad is buried has a lot of chest tombs he died in 1965, I was only 5. One of them had slid slightly open and something was sticking out. My brother used to petrify me saying it was a finger. Im 64 now and it still makes me shiver when i go past. Mum used to say it's not the dead you need fear it's the ones that are living x

What a beautiful graveyard and those tombstones with the art on them was so beautiful. There is a book that has been published on tombstone art and symbolism and the meaning behind them. I recently viewed a video on why graves are dug 6' deep and why when a family was wealthy enough to afford the railings around the grave. In ages past it was a very lucrative endeavor to dig up bodies of recently interred individuals to be sold to doctors doing medical studies on humans. That is until laws were enacted to forbid such practices. The railings and the 6' depth were to stop this practice. In studying my family history I found one of my ancestors was such a doctor as this who used cadavers to autopsy and published his findings on the circulation of blood in the body! Good golly!

Hi Sue and IE! Wow, that was an adventure and more! I didn't get a spooky vibe from that churchyard at all. Even the scattered bones in the dust seemed to be at peace. A Sir Anthony Musgrave was a colonial governor of South Australia. There's a mountain range named after him in the far north of the state. I wonder if he was related. Thanks for the video!

Hello! I just fairly recently discovered your Channel and must say I love it! I thought that I had seen some fantastic cemeteries here in the States, but some of the ones that you have been in in the UK and especially Ireland are on mind-blowing level! And you're sneaking peaks inside the crypts when possible is intense! One thing I would like to suggest for your videos. When you are in the editing stages and inserting overlays such as adding text information or images, may I suggest that you leave the images and / or text up on the screen a little bit longer. I find that many times it's difficult to complete reading the text that you have added before the text disappears off the screen. I am a fairly good and comprehensive reader so it's not that I struggle reading but it's just that it seems that a lot of the times the text isn't up on the screen long enough to completely read before it drops. And the same with the images sometimes. If it's a very interesting image you sometimes want to study it for a moment but when it's there for only a few seconds that's not possible. This is just my observation and opinion, of course, and don't think I'm ragging on your videos because I'm not. Again, I love these videos you do, and I appreciate you doing them!! Keep up the great work! I'm starting to build quite a collection of yours and Serenity Sue's videos in my own playlists of Great Cemetery Adventures!

Do you suppose that someone tried to rob from the crypt where the bones were seen. Amazing video.

Please, PLEASE be careful of sinkholes, badgers, etc! Don't want you guys breaking an ankle, but honestly, enjoyed seeing the old church ruins and very old headstones-I would be hardly contained to go inside and risk getting beaned by falling masonry. The huge Celtic cross, magnificent! Wouldn't that church be absolutely creepy at night!

Esq is someone in line for the title of Sir. It [sir] can only be passed on to the eldest son. Sir Richard was a baronet, which gives the title of Sir. It is below a baron but above a night. It is still passed along the male line.

If the marker is erected for several persons, are they all buried there? Seems like there might not be enough space.

Opps I had to ask this question... Irish Eyes why the word man on the front of your shirt? If I knew you better I would have a more comical comment but I will behave. Now remember I come from a Irish grandfather wh dyed his hair on St, Patrick's day so I am such a card as he was. Great video I would love to tour around that graveyard.

The correct address for a married lady with her husband still alive uses her husband's Christian name. She reverts to her own Christian name if she becomes a widow. This formality now seems to have died out generally, but people of my generation did used to use it. I am in my 80's. Great programme.

Something interesting about the fellow who was said to be able to heal by waving his hands over the body of the ailing. It sounds a bit like Rei Ki healing, though I doubt a 2500 yr old Japanese practice of spiritual healing made its way that far west in such an era as the witch hunts took place.
