I recommend to get the bigger one. This small AB set might be cheap, budget and good for starter but this small airbrush set cant use for a really long hour straight which can cause overheating issue. Other than that, the piston ring inside the compressor can be broken someday and it’s really hard to find the replacement for this small size. Yes. If you have a budget, I would suggest you take get the air compressor with tank. I’m now also using the air compressor tank type because it’s more practical and durable in long term use. Starting to learn how to paint/airbrush my robot models and am looking for something compact like this. But I live in a condominium so a big compressor isn't really on the table due to how noisy they are- I don't really have a very sound insulated workspace and I don't want to really risk disturbing the people next to and above me. How loud is this one in your opinion? You can compare it to other household appliances like a vacuum if that's easier. I can't quite gauge it from your otherwise incredibly informative demonstration. I might try to track one of these down depending on that factor.
@asmrbuildtv4 жыл бұрын
Firstly, it's kinda hard for me to answer your question because it's quite general about how loud does this mini compressor made. What I can say is, for sure this mini compressor will be more silent than the big compressor but in my opinion, this mini compressor is loud as a hairdryer I think but still, you can reduce the loudness by placing this mini air compressor on a solid surface and put it inside a box. This is what I usually do when I'm working during a midnight hour and it's working.

Hi there : ) I'm sorry for the late reply but honestly, I don't have any idea what kind of extra part you mean. So, I think it's not necessary to use that extra parts and you can remove it since it's not really tight as you said so just leave it the airbrush gun with the filter and the air hose.
@asmrbuildtv4 жыл бұрын
oh, one more thing, the filter (the clear container) is quite important because it helps to make sure the air that gets into the airbrush gun is clean without any dust. So the paint will not easily get clogged or it is for a good and smooth painting surface result.

Yes the tank I bought separately. The airbrush gun that I’m using with that compressor is this one kzbin.info/www/bejne/jYHco2ydYshjrJY . Total price is around RM450. There are still a lot of other option (full set airbrush) that below RM400 but I don’t know which one is good since I only had this one.

Hi there. Good question but sadly I don’t use this anymore due to its piston ring started to worn out. It’s really hard to find the replacement though. So I bought a new airbrush here kzbin.info/www/bejne/eIDNeXiKe8drppo .If you bought this mini airbrush, I don’t recommend to use it for a long hour without stopping. It will start to get over heated. But still this is a good start for beginner but you need to use it wisely.

I worried about it's durability. What do you think?
@asmrbuildtv4 жыл бұрын
after 3 months of using, I can say the compressor is just fine and good 👍 but my advice is don't use it for a long hour straight, let it rest too to prevent overheating. The airbrush gun, you need to always make sure it is in clean condition before store it. This is a 0.3mm airbrush needle, so it easily gets clogged when you didn't wash the remaining paint inside it. One more thing is the airbrush gun, be careful with the needle tip, once it gets to bend, you need to replace it or else the paint will not come out.

I don't know what is the Testor airbrush at the beginning but I just watched some of the videos about it and what I can say is, I don't really prefer that kind of airbrush for my modeling because it's mostly hard to control the paint pressure. I've been used this mini airbrush for almost 4 months now and I think this airbrush is actually really good for beginner to start and learn. But I really hope that I could buy the Iwata/Tamiya airbrush someday so I can learn what their differences. But sure it will cost a lot. Does it work on pre-thinned paints?
@asmrbuildtv4 жыл бұрын
No. I don’t think it will work with pre-thinned paint since you need to have a correct ratio to make the paint flow smoothly from the airbrush gun. Also to prevent the clogged issue. Edit : btw, why got 2 same questions? hahaha
@naillover80364 жыл бұрын
@@asmrbuildtv I am using water based acrylic paint. What ratio would you recommend? I use 4012 by Createx Colors. Thanks in advance.
@asmrbuildtv4 жыл бұрын
@@naillover8036 I never use that paint so I don’t really know the exact ratio for that but what I can say is the final mixture of the paint must look like a milk texture. Which is not too thick and not too thin. If your paint mixture wont come out from the airbrush, that’s might mean the paint mixture is too thick. So simply add more water (for your case since I mostly use thinner) and try again. If the paint mixture is out like a melting water on the part’s surface that’s mean you need to add more paint in the mixture.
@naillover80364 жыл бұрын
@@asmrbuildtv Thank you. I think I found the right ratio, it's 10 ml of reducer (4012 ) for every 20 drops of paint (pre thinned water based acrylic airbrush paint). Also, I was trying to create an ombre look on my nails which is when one color transitions into another flawlessly and I was successful once weeks ago but then I tried and tried again and I could never get it again until last night. I was making the mistake of pulling the trigger all the way back and from a distance which was getting drops of paint where I didn't want. It finally worked when I pulled the trigger lightly and close to nail. I am very thankful for your videos you have been so so helpful!!
