Another great review! I have a cordless Dremel and it is wonderful, though not cheap. The switching arrangement is perfect (going from zero) and there is an extension available to allow you to get to hard places or do better vertical cuts on track. I made the mistake of lending this to my son so I bought he Parkside kit plus extras and quite like it. The soldering station looks good even though I already have one and the vice and dish look good also. There is no doubt that this stuff is great value, but compared to a real Dremel, you can see why this stuff is so cheap, though not to be despised. Many thanks for taking the time to make this video and sharing your thoughts and experience.

As a builder and property maintainer we use Aldi and Lidl tools all the time. They work well and take a lot of abuse. I still have Makita tools for more extreme work requiring higher power output. I do a lot of modelling, railways, Dove houses etc in my spare time and use Aldi and Lidl all the time as the Makita's are locked up safe. People don't tend to nick the cheaper tools !!!

I [purchased the Parkside multi tool and found there was quite a bit of vibration which I cured by buying a bearing and taking it apart and then inserting it at the chuck end and you will see if you do this fix you will see there should be a bearing there but Parkside for some reason omitted these bearings. I have since read that they still omit to fit these bearings why I hear you ask and all i can say is I have no idea but fitting the bearing stopped the vibration.

Great review, Lidl & Aldi are my favourite shops. Your arbour with no thread is a quality control problem I've never met. I think the spade bit on the soldering iron migth be for melting plastic. The thumb wheel on the drill is, I think, speed not power. I've had a powerfix (from aldi) for about 15 years (its worn out now) with an "analogue" speed control and that always seemed to migrate to slower because of vibration so I prefer the click wheel. I like the chuck with the wide flats. Too many of the mini drills I've had over the years have little slits so you can only use the stamped plate spanner. These often spread a bit eventualy and in any case are easy to lose (they hide under anything). With wide flats you can use a 10mm open spanner. Nice to see the multi kit has inner compartments, i missed that when I saw them in Lidl. Trouble with assortment packs is you always use one part a lot and many hardly at all. Using the cutoff wheel to cut wood? I think they clog up with the dust, hence the smoke, a saw wheel would be better the cut off discs are for metal (I use them to cut bicycle cables cleanly). I think the diamond bits would clog on wood or plastic so should be reserved for metal. How long does cordless drill last? I prefer corded because I have had too many let downs with cordless. Overall a great and very helpful review.

The "Ring" on the Parkside soldering iron is a safety feature. It is meant to catch if you don't pull it out correctly. That way it is harder for younger kids to pull it out and burn themselves. You have a newer model of the Rotary Tool then me. I have the one that still has the wall plug charger. Parkside has a large magnet tray as well. It is twice as wide but the same length. Not sure if you have see but Parkside has three sets of drills from .2 mm to .5 I think. I could only find the smallest and middle sets. The only problem I can find with the Rotary Tool is the useable time is extremally limited. So if you have a lot of work it is much better to use a corded Rotary Tool if you have more then an Hours worth of time.

Nice review but one does have to question the £5 magnetic tray ... easily made from scraps, shirley? Also would a stainless tray scratch a surface if it was smooth and polished? The feet are more to house the magnets than anything.

The Ferrox minidrill one sold by ALDI is way better and has removable 12v batteries that can be charged on Parkside 12v chargers. alas the Ferrox one cant use the Parkside 12V batteries as the case and endocarp moulding are slightly different :( I've used that vice on laminated worktops from Ikea and it hold well enough to move the worktop!

I am a big fan of Parkside and Lidl tools. However, the Workzone wise (which I suppose is from Aldi, not Lidl) is a copy of a similar Proxxon tool.

Yep…we’ve got the proxxon suction fit vice…I can’t see any obvious differences in design between them. I’m guessing the main difference will be the price. 😁👍🏻

I've had the stone on the grinding tool break free after it got hot and I think it must've melted the glue that was cementing it to the shaft. I wonder if the glue or cement used to keep the stones on the shaft is suitable.

I got the rotary tool. It's ok and works well. No issues. So why is a actual Dremel so expensive
@autumn5592
@autumn5592 Жыл бұрын
Motor is more powerful, armature is better balanced, tolerances are tighter, materials better quality (/thicker), and more features. There is a bit of brand tax added onto the tools, but it is worth the money. You can easily see how a Dremel is worth the extra cost when you hold them both in your hands.

There is a sort of conspiracy theory here in Hungary that often times we get worse quality items in shops like lidl and other big retail stores than other countries. I have the same rotary tool accessories and some of them are indeed badly balanced and vibrate quite a lot. Collets and grinding disc holders for example are almost always unusable. I had to buy replacement dremmel ones to be able to use my rotary tool properly. I wonder if you experience similar problems or are these defects indeed only present in the tools we get here.

I buy a lot of Makita and Ferrex. With Aldi and Lidl tools the build quality and design very a lot with different items. Or example Aldi have sold four different 20v drills recently not to mention 12v and 18v now 40v! Ferrex make grey blue and green coloured tools, the plastic feel varies too. Dark blue are better...Recip saw and small sds for example. Ferrex use a lot of suppliers of rebadge better tool brands. But also the QC varies too with identical products. Greetings to Hungary, I worked with a few Hungarians some years back 👍
